Based on a textile in my collection with the pattern known as the “kusikus” (originating from the ilocos region of the Philippines) which means whirlpool or whirlwind. It was meant to confuse evil spirits and to appease the wind god. taken in San Francisco, California by @jeromenoveras

Something a little more recent.

We are a people trying to navigate the space between two lands. A motherland we knew nothing about and the land we that raised us. Navigating the complexities of being seen as an outsider in the country you grew up in and being seen as the other in the land our parents left behind.
