New Goodness from us by @jerritheeditor Abisola Omele Is Making Room for the Fashion She’s Always Wanted with Universal Standard Not @abimarvel basically opening her @Pinterest board and saying,
“Fine, I’ll make it myself.” Okay, not exactly. But the story behind US x Abisola is pretty close.

Abisola has been saving styles she loved that simply were not being made in her size. When @UniversalStandard came calling, that folder became part of the inspiration. And she had requirements. She wanted structure. She wanted cool details. She wanted comfort. She wanted to understand the technical side.
And she wanted EVERY piece available across the full 00 to 40 size range.

Because discovering the best piece in a collection doesn’t come in your size? Her words: “I hate that so much.”

New Goodness from us by @jerritheeditor featuring @thickcon_She Got Tired of Plus Size Women Being Left Out, So Kimberly Beasley Built ThickCon Kimberly Beasley really said, “If y’all won’t build the room, I WILL.”

And honestly? We love a woman who follows through. What started with Curvatude, took her through NYFW and Miami Swim Week, and eventually became a half-joking Facebook post has grown into ThickCon, a fashion experience created with the plus size community at the CENTER of the conversation. Not squeezed in.

Not added at the last minute. Not represented by the one body deemed “plus enough” for the runway. CENTERED. TCF’s Jerilyn Harper sat down with Kimberly to talk about the Fashion Week moment that changed everything, the family powering ThickCon behind the scenes, the 100+ models who wanted a chance to walk, and why she believes ThickCon can become a beacon for our community.
