POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

For years, my teaching has taken me beyond the four walls of my dojo—into schools, communities, and programs where I’ve had the opportunity to speak to young people about bullying, respect, confidence, awareness, and making good choices.

But here’s what I want parents to know…

My students don’t hear this message once a year.
They hear it five days a week.

At East Coast Black Belt Academy, we teach more than kicks and punches.

We teach respect. Confidence. Discipline. Awareness. Character.

Because the greatest lessons of martial arts aren’t just about protecting yourself physically.

They’re about preparing young people for life.

East Coast Black Belt Academy
Serving the Longwood community for 36 years.

Give your child more than martial arts. Give them skills for life.

Falling doesn’t have to mean living in fear of your next step. 💜 @jerry_figgiani

In recognition of Fall Prevention Month, Oasis welcomed Jerry, owner of East Coast Black Belt Academy in Middle Island, for an interactive lesson in Ukemi — the principles of falling safely.

Jerry worked with members of our senior community to demonstrate techniques designed to help protect the body during a fall, while breaking down the fear of falling through education, movement, and hands-on practice.

Because fall prevention isn’t only about avoiding falls, it’s also about building confidence and knowing how to respond if one happens.

Follow Oasis Rehabilitation and Nursing for more programs focused on keeping our community active, educated, and confident.
