When you consume something every day, you really want to know two things.. 👇

1. What’s in it
2. What’s not

..and when it’s something used every day by both me and my family (incl. my kids), it becomes pretty personal.

SALTE goes through 5 stages of testing before it reaches the market:

1. Supplier testing:
Every raw material is tested by the supplier before it reaches us.

↓

2. Raw material testing:
We test the raw materials ourselves to verify the supplier’s results.

↓

3. Finished product testing:
We test the finished product to make sure it meets our standards.

↓

4. Third-party testing:
Independent laboratories test for label claim accuracy, heavy metals, PFAS, and microbiology.

↓

5. Packaging testing:
We test the packaging for heavy metals and migration, PFAS/fluorine, bisphenols such as BPA, phthalates, and screen it against REACH/SVHC requirements

..it’s a lot of testing.

And I honestly think this should be the floor, not the ceiling.

Why I love steak tartare… 👀

Raw meat = maximum nourishment and bioavailability. Nutrients stay intact, with nothing lost to heat degradation or oxidation.

One of the cleanest and healthiest restaurant options (just skip the sauce and fried toppings to avoid #seedoils).

No insulin spike, no blood sugar crash, and NOT triggering overeating. Just real satiety.

It’s my favorite dish. 🥩

Steak tartare may look simple, but it’s an OG dish that just MAKES SENSE. Raw beef, acid, spice, and fat are working together to support digestion, enhance absorption, and offset any downside of eating raw.

Bone broth is the original longevity drink.

There’s something fascinating about the way we used to eat that just makes sense. We understood how to make use of what nature gave us, eating the whole animal, wasting nothing, and turning bones, marrow and connective tissue into deeply nourishing food through slow cooking.

And this wasn’t unique to one part of the world. Across Europe and Asia, from Traditional Chinese Medicine to generations of home cooking, we see versions of the same tradition.

Long before we talked about #collagen, #glycine and #minerals, this was simply food.

Different cultures, same underlying wisdom.

Sometimes ancient wisdom and modern nutrition end up in EXACTLY the same place. by @jespersthl

Swimming is the ultimate form of cardio! 👇

🧠 Parasympathetic activation

When your face is submerged, your heart rate drops by around 10–25% through the diving reflex, automatically activating your parasympathetic nervous system. Your body shifts into a “rest and recover” state while you’re still exercising. No other form of cardio does this in quite the same way.

😮‍💨 Controlled breathing

Swimming naturally forces you into a slow, rhythmic breathing pattern with long exhalations. This stimulates the vagus nerve and helps calm your nervous system without you even thinking about it.

💪 A true full-body workout

Unlike most other forms of exercise, swimming trains virtually every major muscle group while placing minimal stress on your joints. You get more benefits while paying a smaller recovery cost.

🔄 Lymphatic flow

Your lymphatic system depends on movement and breathing to function efficiently. Swimming gives you both at the same time, with the added benefit of being in a horizontal position. Personally, I always look my best after a swim.

🧊 The cold exposure nobody talks about…

Ice baths and cold showers get all the attention, but swimming is also a form of mild cold exposure. Pool water is typically around 25–26°C (77–79°F), while your skin is about 33–35°C (91–95°F). After 60–90 minutes, your body begins responding to the temperature difference, potentially increasing noradrenaline production, activating brown fat, and reducing inflammatory cytokines. Open-water swimming here in Sweden takes it a step further and is often cold enough to promote a shift in macrophages from a more pro-inflammatory to a more anti-inflammatory state.

⚠️ The only downside of pools is the water itself.

You’re literally swimming in chlorine, chloramines, other people’s sweat (and pee!? 😂), sunscreen, fragrances, and skincare products… and unfortunately, your skin absorbs at least some of what’s in the water. by @jespersthl

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: swimming is underrated! 💪

• Full-body workout
• Low-impact and easy on the joints
• Diving reflex lowers heart rate
• Long exhales promote parasympathetic activation
• Increases lymphatic flow
• Low recovery cost

And most importantly, my wife thinks I’m hotter when I swim more and run less.. 😂 by @jespersthl

I get a lot of questions about my low-protein days.

Shouldn’t we all be #proteinmaxxing all the time? 😳

Protein is essential, and building muscle is one of the best investments you can make for a long, healthy life.

But I think many people misunderstand what #longevity research is actually telling us.

Just because something is good doesn’t mean your body needs that signal ALL THE TIME.

Your body adapts to the signals you give it.

The answer isn’t always more.

Sometimes it’s changing the signal.

Occasionally having a low-protein day may help shift these pathways:

↓ mTOR
↓ IGF-1
↑ AMPK
↑ Autophagy

The body adapts to repetition.

It responds to change.

Longevity isn’t about maximizing one signal all the time.

It’s about knowing when to pulse it. by @jespersthl

🎙️ In this episode, I sit down with Dean Henry for a deep dive into #peptides.

Dean has spent more than a decade working with health optimisation and peptides, and he is one of the most articulate voices in this space.

We go through the major categories, what they actually do, quality, sourcing, dosing and risk. We also get into the important difference between peptide-based drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro, and peptides used for recovery, performance and health optimisation.

There is a lot of hype right now. But also a lot of confusion. This episode is here to provide clarity.

Copenhagen gave me science, good conversations… and apparently, electrolytes. 😄

I don’t usually promote products. But when I genuinely enjoy something — and genuinely like the person behind it — I’m happy to say so.

I met @jespersthl only a few months ago, and it’s been a pleasure getting to know him. Somewhere in the middle of a very busy Copenhagen Health Week, @drinksalte came to the rescue. I tried it, I liked it, and yes… I told him so on camera. 😂
There’s something nice about seeing good people build things they believe in. Sometimes you don’t need to make it more complicated than that.

Keep going, Jesper. You’ve got a great thing going. 🤝 by @jespersthl
