Building a tradition we can all regret each year. Worth it!

May have taken on a bit too much this weekend between our event Saturday night and the LA Marathon Sunday morning.

My body agrees but I’d do it all again for this amazing crew! See you all next year! by @jessebet

Friends, family, LA Marathon weekend, and another few days limping around the city.

We said we wanted to pick a race each year as an excuse to get everyone together. It’s turned out that LA has become that race and our legs have been suffering ever since. Looking to get @lincolnjd @rundizzlerun @dannytmackey back in the fold in 2024! taken in Santa Monica, California by @jessebet

Grandpa left us today. He was from what most people call the “Greatest Generation”. You know...the kind that served, fought in wars, met their sweetheart in high school, volunteered, went to church every Sunday, and looked after family above all.

Very lucky to have made the long drive to visit this past September for he and Grandma’s 67th anniversary. They met in high school when he was 17 and she was 16. He actually proposed in a letter while he was in Korea (at only 18 and serving in the Air Force). She said yes and they’ve since lived in Turkey, Taiwan, Hawaii, Maine, Washington, and Illinois before settling in Florida.

When I was visiting this fall he and Grandma dressed in matching outfits one morning. I asked him if it was a coincidence and he looked at her, then me, and said “more like an incident”.

I hope you’re still cracking jokes in heaven Grandpa. Love you and miss you by @jessebet

Not even one step felt good today in my 2nd @lamarathon
Not one

Somehow stayed on it with @jeffersonsean and never ended up getting an Uber. I was lucky enough to run 18 miles with friends today and that made it work!!! Shout out to everyone in our crew posting solid days today @craigv74 @justinjohnsonrunning and @courtneymunley crushing her 1st marathon and putting up with all of us before the race

I listen to the @theamshakeout every week but this week I’ll probably have to sit one out since I’m the one talking 😬
If you are interested in any of the following then give it a listen

Corporate days @brooksrunning & how the
@brooksbeaststc got started,
@hansonsbrooksodp early days, how we first got @nicksymmonds attention and his new role in running, @steeple_squigs social media game, 2020 Sunset Tour, best friends at work, when it’s time to leave your dream job, new beginnings, finding running in high school, @fastwomen @lopemagazine @citiusmag and other newbie running media that we love.....and blowing up track for the better

If you don’t listen to it, I get it, but you’re wrong and I’ll hate you

First time I talked to @gigrunewald was while recruiting her to join the @brooksrunning family. Luckily she joined and even came up with a nickname for her and her new teammates.... “BEASTS”. I mean, she had just finished 2nd in the NCAA 1500m after coming back from her first battle with cancer so she obviously knew what she was talking about. Apparently that was just the beginning.
Gabe just didn’t let things get in her way. Even this illness was no match for her tenacity as she continued to run, race, and inspire. Her partner in this journey was a perfect match. His selflessness, Love, and support of Gabe was obvious from the start and set an unachievable standard for the rest of us normal humans!

Sending love to that Beast of a woman and her partner @justingrunewald1 today and for so many days to come. ❤️ #bravelikegabe by @jessebet

Big day today as @texastech is playing in the freaking championship game!! When I decided to go to the Harvard of West Texas it was a big decision and huge move from home. Haven’t second guessed it since!! My team!! Go Red Raiders!
A few things on the line as apparently some people chose @uva for their education. The bet is on @craigv74 and let’s just all cross our fingers as I’ll have to not only wear those weird combo colors in a picture but sign all emails accordingly (if Tech doesn’t pull this off).
Also, if Tech does win @runpacer said I get the King Street store? taken in Santa Monica, California by @jessebet
