Our 3-man guitar extravaganza @txheadhuntersaustin w/ myself, Austin legend @ianmoorebandofficial & Antones blues assassin @johnnymoeller from the T-Birds, are starting a run of shows this weekend w/ 3 big ones in Texas. San Antonio, Humble,(Houston-area) & Fort Worth ya'll are up 1st. Most of these venues will be an evening with us, so you can catch us at the big festival or the music cruise, but these will be full 2 hour shows where we play everything. For the 3rd year in a row I'll be teaming up w/ my old Gulf Coast padna,(and the most Cajun man I know & I know alot of 'em!), Louisiana blues guitar legend Tab Benoit for a end-of-the-year tour. Tab and I just wrote some great songs together at a fishing camp deep on the bayou Terrebonne in Louisiana and we're looking forward to recording them soon. RIP JON DEE GRAHAM: Thanks Jon Dee for teaching me how to lighten up and not carry the world on my shoulders all the time. Our meet-ups at the meditation center in South Austin were a monumental help and relief to me when I needed it the most. He'd tell me "you already got the Beaumont thing down JD, it's the rest of the universe you need to embrace". Even through his struggles, he was still a great teacher to a lot of us. Austin lost a real one. Safe travels pal. 💔 #jondeegraham ps if you've ever wondered when country music & punk rock truly collided it was in Austin Texas in the late 70s on the stage of the Armadillo World Headquarters and the lineup was Jon Dee's band The Skunks opening, then Joe Ely, and w/ The Clash closing. We had a hell of a sail away show on the @outlawcruise One of the great things about this particular cruise are the other artists I get to spend time with. Last night I had a long one on one conversation w/ Dan Baird who regaled me w/ stories about the Georgia Satellites watching "Keep Your Hands To Yourself" shoot up the charts while doing a long American tour w/ Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.Knowing when you're hearing great life stories is almost as important as the stories themselves...almost. onward, JD by @jessedayton

Happy St. Patricks Day y'all. How many immigrant Irish families didn't go to NY or Boston, but came in thru the port of New Orleans or the port of Galveston Island and wound up staying in Texas?
