Still setting your angle from scratch every time? There's a better way. 📐

When you're marking angles for your woodworking projects, speed and consistency matter. Using a standard rafter square means repeatedly setting and checking your angle, leaving more room for small errors that can add up throughout a project.

The JessEm Quick Angle Square makes it easy to mark fast, accurate, and repeatable angles without the constant setup. Spend less time checking your measurements and more time getting the work done.

If you want a faster, more consistent workflow in the shop, this is one tool worth adding to your setup.

What tool has made the biggest difference in your workflow? Let us know in the comments!

Stop guessing your router bit height with a ruler. 👀

When it comes to router table setup, precision matters. A ruler can get you close, but the JessEm Tool Setting Gauge makes it easier to dial in your bit height accurately and consistently, helping you get the results your project demands.

And here's a bonus tip you might not know: flip the gauge on its side to set the depth of your router table fence in relation to your bit. One tool, even more ways to make your setup easier!

Ready to take the guesswork out of your router table setup? Check out the JessEm Tool Setting Gauge and see the difference for yourself.

Perfect dowel joints start before you drill a single hole. 👌🪵

When joining two pieces of wood with a dowelling jig, correctly identifying your reference faces is key to getting everything aligned.

Mark your reference faces on both boards, keep them consistent when positioning your jig, and make sure both pieces are referenced the same way. This helps keep your dowel holes aligned and your joint tight, flush, and accurate.

A little attention to your setup now can save you a lot of frustration later!

Using the wrong router bit in your box joint jig can make a clean joint a lot harder to achieve. 👀

An upcut spiral bit is a great choice for box joints because it pulls the chips and waste up and out of the cut as you work. That helps keep the bottom of the cut clear, reduces the chance of chips packing into the slot, and gives you a cleaner, more efficient cut.

It also helps when making multiple passes through a box joint jig, where chip evacuation and consistent cutting really matter.

The right bit paired with a good jig can make a huge difference in the quality and consistency of your joinery.

Why use a different setup block for every measurement when one tool can do it all?

The JessEm Tool Setting Gauge makes router table setup faster, easier, and more repeatable. Instead of reaching for a stack of individual setup blocks, you have multiple precise measurements built right into one compact gauge.

Use it to quickly set router bit heights, establish consistent depths, and dial in your setup without relying on guesswork or constantly measuring with a tape or ruler.

It’s compact, easy to keep close by, and gives you a consistent reference every time you set up your router table.

If you could only keep one setup tool at your router table, would the JessEm Tool Setting Gauge make the cut? Let us know in the comments!

Can’t find your square? Your dowelling jig might be able to help. 👀

The alignment notches on the JessEm Stainless Steel Dowelling Jig aren’t just for setup, they can also come in handy when you need to scribe a quick, accurate line.

If your square has disappeared somewhere under the pile of tools on your bench, use the alignment notches as a scribing tool!

It’s a simple little trick, but sometimes the best shop tips are the ones hiding in plain sight.

Still tapping your router table fence to make tiny adjustments? There’s a better way. 👀

A JessEm micro adjuster lets you make small, controlled changes to your fence position without having to tap, bump, and re-check your setup every time.

That means easier fine-tuning, more precise adjustments, and a much more repeatable setup, especially when you’re dialing in a cut where even a small change makes a difference.

Once you start using a micro adjuster, going back to tapping your fence just feels like extra work.

Don’t try to hog out all that material with a dovetail bit.

When cutting a dovetail, start with a straight bit to remove the bulk of the excess material, then switch to your dovetail bit to make the final cut.

The reason? A dovetail bit’s angled cutting edges mean it isn’t designed for taking shallow passes the same way a straight bit is. As you raise the bit gradually, the shape of the cutter changes the amount and location of material being removed, making shallow passes less effective and potentially leaving an inconsistent profile.

Using a straight bit first lets you remove most of the waste quickly and efficiently, leaving just enough material for the dovetail bit to establish the final shape.

From box joints to splines… just like that. 🔥

One jig comes off, the spline jig goes on, and we’re back in business.

No complicated setup. No 47-step ritual involving three rulers, a level, and a prayer. 😂

This is how we do it. 🎶

If you’re not using stock guides at your router table, you’re missing a simple way to get more control over your cuts. 👀

JessEm Clear Cut Stock Guides help keep your workpiece firmly against the fence and moving smoothly through the cut, giving you better control and more consistent results.

They’re especially useful when working with narrower stock, keeping pressure where you need it, and maintaining a steady feed rate from start to finish.

Sometimes it’s the simple additions to your setup that make the biggest difference.

Are you using stock guides on your router table? Let us know in the comments!
