I think this is going to be the final form for this router table. The new SLT Fence System really does address all the little wishes I had for a fence on this table. And I love the absolutely overkill packaging from @jessemtoolcompany . This this really is a beautifully machined piece of engineering, or maybe even art...

Exciting things happening for Team Fidelis! 🇺🇸🪵

Today, I had the opportunity to sit down with @kctv5 for an interview about Team Fidelis being selected for their 3 Degree Guarantee program for November, proudly sponsored by Devaughn James Injury Lawyers!

Even better, I got to showcase the JessEm Box Joint Jig while sharing the story behind our Boxes of Honor program and how we’re using woodworking to bring veterans together, build connections, and create a sense of purpose.

It’s always a great opportunity to shine a light on the work we’re doing and the incredible veteran community we serve.

A huge thank you to KCTV5 and @devaughn_james_kc for supporting organizations making a difference in our community, and to @jessemtoolcompany for helping us bring Boxes of Honor to life!

📺 The interview airs November 2nd on KCTV5! I’ll be sure to share it here once it airs.

More than woodworking. More than a box. It’s about the veterans sitting around the table. 🇺🇸

Alright, I’ll admit it… I’m a bit of a JessEm fanboy. 😂 But being a fanboy doesn’t mean the quality and value aren’t there!

The JessEm Tool Setting Guides — Large and Small, in metric — are another great example of why I keep coming back to their products. Solid quality, thoughtful design, and the kind of precision that makes setting up your tools easier and more repeatable.

Call me a fanboy if you want. I’ll be over here enjoying tools that do what they’re supposed to do. 🤷‍♂️🔧

Shaker Table class last weekend was a lot of fun, beautiful quarter sawn white oak with tenon aprons.

Precision starts before the cut. 🎯🪚

Putting the JessEm Height Gauge to work dialing in my table saw for accurate, repeatable tenon cuts.

Small adjustments make a big difference in woodworking. Measure precisely, set it right, and let the results speak for themselves.

What are you using to dial in your blade height?

Greg made quick work of the joinery for his closet drawers using the box joint jig from @jessemtoolcompany. You can use this jig to make a small box for yourself during the JessEm 2-Day event in November! Stay tuned for more info!

Great people, meaningful conversations, and an incredible opportunity to share our mission! 🇺🇸🙌

We had an awesome time at KCTV5 with DeVaughn James after Team Fidelis was selected for their 3 Degree Guarantee program!

We talked about our Boxes of Honor program, proudly sponsored by @jessemtoolcompany and how woodworking helps bring veterans together, build connections, and create a renewed sense of purpose. 🪵🔨

One of the highlights was presenting the @kctv5 team with a handcrafted keepsake box made by one of our veterans! 🎁

A huge thank-you to @devaughn_james_kc and the entire KCTV5 crew for giving us the opportunity to share what we’re building—and to JessEm for helping make it possible!

We’re building more than boxes. We’re building connections that matter. 🇺🇸

My latest project: these two walnut shelves for our baby room (at my wife’s request). My waitlist is years out, but my wife always seems to get VIP access to the front of the line. To be fair, she was going to buy similar shelves, but at a few hundred bucks each (and likely cheaply made), I insisted I make them instead. It’s probably the least I can do after all the support she gives me when buying these tools that are capable of building shelves…

I had some regrets when I started painting the turned walnut spindles - what was I doing, painting walnut?!! But once it was done, I was really happy with how it came together.

The great part is that these two shelves were made entirely from scrap wood. It felt good to get back to my woodworking roots - especially firing up the lathe for the first time in this shop.

Here’s a few photos and videos of the process. Enjoy!

Time to say goodbye to the clamp stand. While it served me well, I need the floor space so the convenience of rolling them around is gone but I’ve got a nice spot for another tool😎.

If you are interested, I will have it for sale at the @woodcraft_kc Swap & Shop on October 24th!

Added bonus is that they will be selling hotdogs and sodas for donations to @teamfidelis and the team tent will be there to tell people about the Boxes Of Honor🇺🇸 events we do for veterans thanks to a generous sponsorship from @jessemtoolcompany

Come out to say Hi and we are working on a woodworking raffle for day as well.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the rip fence on my @festool CSC SYS 50.

It’s the @tsoproducts Extended Rip Fence that I cut down to 610 mm from its original 1,000 mm length. I have two of them, so I kept one at its original length and cut the other one down.

You can also use the Extended Rip Fence with the @jessemtoolcompany Clear-Cut Flex Stock Guides.
