Commission at Boston Logan International Airport. A behind the scenes look at the permanent installation of my public art work at Detla's TerminalA.
Bob and John were rock stars helping me get this almost four by six foot painting into the wall without a scratch!

"Common Ground, Reflection"

Reverse handpainted acrylic on layers of polycarbonate, LED.
Installation, April 2025.

I have been so thrilled to get so many pictures and comments from people running through the airport and seeing it.
Please keep them coming!
❤️
Thank you to @newslink for their support of local artists and makers and for this incredible opportunity to touch so many. And thank you to my amazing family for their love and support.

As I paint each layer I am constantly flipping them over to see how they are layering. As they are painted in reverse on the Plexiglas, my 1st mark is my top highlight and I build it backwards on each panel.

Working on a new LARGE piece that feels like this wave so been looking back at this one from last year. While I don't have it any more (it has a new home now!) I have been scrolling through my references so I can see how I can maximize my technique on the new piece.

Will share the new one soon!

Love getting texts from friends when they breeze past my painting at Logan Airport. The sunset today totally makes it!
If you are in Terminal A (Delta terminal) keep an eye out as you get through TSA.
And feel free to send me pics! They make my day!❤️

It was such a thrill to get to share my work with the governor of Massachusetts, @maura_healey at this weekend's Shuckfest at the @artcomplexmuseum in Duxbury, MA.

We talked about my work at Logan Airport in terminal A, my process, dyslexia, thinking in layers, even my upcoming solo show athe museum in February.

She was so warm and engaged with all the artists. I was honored to spend the time with her and be among them. Such an unexpected glimmer!✨️

Shuckfest at @artcomplexmuseum was a gorgeous day of art, music, food and craft. Showcasing all that is so special in this part of new england.
I was especially excited to be working on this piece which will be part of my solo show at the museum in February.
I was lucky enough to paint all day in the sublime setting of the grounds surrounded by the best community of artists and my lovely little helpers. We even had a surprise guest with the governor, Maura Healy, stopping in for a tour of the art tent.

Thank you so much to @christinamarygodfrey of @savagegodfreygallery for including me, to @petermello and his incredible staff at the ACM for all their efforts and vision, and to my fellow arty peeps for sharing your inspiring work. ✨️

I have never broken a toe in a heroic way, and today is no exception (the bed frame is fine).
I will persist and be ready to go at Shuckfest tomorrow, boot and all.
I will be at the @artcomplexmuseum starting at noon until I need to throw in the towel.

Meanwhile, its been interesting maneuvering around the easels while trying to keep it somewhat elevated for at least part of the day. Only knocked the paint water off the table once today.

So if you see me tomorrow lounging in a chair while I paint, you will know why. by @jesshurleyscottart

We had such a wonderful reception on Sunday for Permission To Be Lost! 🌀✨ Thanks for all who came and just support the arts in general!

So many artists reconnected, met for the first time, and brought family and friends to experience work in person, something they might otherwise only see online or hear about in passing.

If we’re being honest, our absolute favorite part of these gatherings is seeing artists connect with one another. Creating can be such a quiet, in-your-head endeavor...so these moments of real-life connections are impactful.

Storm's comin'.... showed up at the beach to shoot and ended up sharing the breakwall with the town crew who were busy putting the storm barriers in.

Nantucket has already canceled the ferries.

Really hoping it stays a bit further south and out to sea, but in the meanwhile, time to pack up the outdoor gear and batten down the hatches.
