i tend to make my best work when i have freedom to play around & get weird. those shoots normally have to happen outside of “work” because when i’m on the clock, i’m helping to create someone else’s vision. but working with @neimanmarcus has been SO fulfilling because they’ve trusted me to shoot & edit freely. 🥺🥲 my love language. i took this photo mid-day in a little corner outside of the mall in the HEAT & it somehow turned out this magical so you know i had to add it to the feed. 🤘🏻 so thankful for all the opportunities that have been coming my way lately. somebody pinch me.

weddings: where photographers spend ten hours in formalwear doing squats, sprinting between toasts, & stealthily third wheeling to make sure the evidence of love gets passed down to your grandkids. & let me tell you! it’s all worth it for a gallery as pure as this one. 🥲

being a photographer requires an ability to romanticize small, “mundane” moments- to see beauty that may go unnoticed if you don’t grab it with your camera. but finding big joy in little things is a practice that had to start in my own life before i could bring it to my clients, & it’s one that i have to intentionally choose again & again.

i wrapped up my mother’s day mini sessions this weekend & it dawned on me that i’ve been doing minis for almost a decade but have never shared a recap! these are just some of the cute faces that blessed my camera over the last couple of weeks. 94 people came through this little setup at my house & although the background stayed the same, the interactions & love were distinct with each family. forever feeling like the luckiest getting a glimpse into these moments. 🥲 taken in Phoenix, Arizona by @jessica.juniper

when i look back through photo albums, i want to remember kai exactly as he was. my favorite photos of the people i love have never been “sit still & smile” poses, but have been full of movement & emotion, so i try to run my shoots with an energy that honors kids & every facet that comes along with them. chaos, apprehension, silliness, nerves, affection, even teenage moods. 😅 it’s all welcome here. my girl @anastasiapagonas once said, “children don’t keep.” catch them while you can. 📸 taken in Phoenix, Arizona by @jessica.juniper
