I’m not sure what’s changed more over the last few months—my hair or my life. 😄✂️

What started as a 30-day break from social media somehow turned into more than five months away. I deleted Facebook completely.

The past year and a half has been a season of discernment for me.

A lot of learning.
A lot of unlearning.
And some unexpected grief.

Grief over the loss of eternal optimism, relationships, and even parts of myself that no longer fit.

The world is more broken than I wanted to believe. Some things, once seen, can’t be unseen.

But the more aware I became of the darkness in the world, the more intentional I had to become about seeking God. ✨🙏

Getting quiet enough to hear Him.

Tuning out much of the noise, urgency, outrage, and distraction of our culture.

Paying attention to where He was leading me instead of where everyone else seemed to be running.

Maybe that’s why the ordinary things have become so sacred to me.

Spending as much time outdoors as possible. ☀️

Getting my hands dirty in the garden.
🌿🌸

Writing.
Reading.

Being present for my daughter’s freshman year of high school. ❤️

Attending Sunday mass with my family. ⛪️

Coffee and conversation with a friend. ☕️

Dogs at your feet🐾

Walking 9 holes with my husband⛳️

For the first time, I am intentionally choosing ordinary moments over endless achievement.

Making time for the people I love and the friendships where the effort flows both ways. 🤍

This week marked six and a half months alcohol-free. 🕊️

That decision has brought more joy, clarity, and connection into my life than I ever expected.

Turns out, ordinary life is pretty extraordinary when you’re actually paying attention.

In a couple days, I’ll turn 50.🎉

I don’t know if I’m back on IG for the summer or for the long haul.

But for now, this feels like the right time to reconnect and share some of this season’s ordinary moments.

How we start our day matters.

Before the emails, the schedules, the workouts, the responsibilities—setting aside time for God has a way of putting everything else in its proper place.

It won’t look the same for everyone…

Prayer at home.

Scripture.

A few minutes of meditation.

An early morning Mass. ⛪️

Taking the time to worship and give thanks to our creator, sets the tone for the day.

It doesn’t mean the day will go perfectly, but it puts the priority where it needs to be, and reminds us what is eternal vs what is temporary. 🙏

Celebrating this Mother’s Day with my very first PRO WIN. 🥇

There’s not many traits I want my kids to inherit from me—

But the one thing I do hope to exemplify is that...

an unrelenting belief in yourself, along with deep faith, drive and passion for what you do will never let you down!

It doesn’t mean you will “win” every time. It’s often not easy, and the rewards are rarely immediate.

But when you are driven by purpose and passion, when you are true to who you are, and are living out YOUR vision for life, not someone else’s,

You’re not attached to the results because you know it’s never about the final destination (of which we have little control), it’s always about the journey.

The journey is the juice!

It’s where character is built.
It’s where you grow.
It’s where you develop humility, work ethic, and badassery!! 🔥

Is it just me? Some days I’m convinced I should start a podcast. Other days I’m ready to disappear off grid.

Topics I want to explore.
People I want to interview. Conversations I want to start…

Then there are days when I’m tired of everyone’s opinions—including my own. 😂

Attending a wedding as a married couple has a way of giving you all the feels 🥰

Watching one of my best friends exchange vows with her husband, I just felt so much joy for her—and also a renewed gratitude for my own marriage.🩷

Chris and I are coming up on 18 years years married in a couple of months.

I see so much wisdom in this union God created.🙏💍

Marriage reveals who you are on a daily basis, and gives you frequent opportunities to work on your shortcomings, and to practice forgiveness, tolerance, and compromise.

But also to just relax and be yourself, with someone who sees all sides of you.

My marriage is one of the things I’m most proud of and protective of.

This weekend’s wedding reminded me how deeply I love the man beside me—and how much I wish that for my friend, and for all married couples.🤍

My bestie got married!! 💍🤍

If you know Lis, you know she’s always moved through life at her own pace 😂 — I call it ‘Lis time’. And that includes finding her person and getting married.

Turns out, her timing was pretty perfect.🤍

Lis, you were an absolutely beautiful bride, and watching you get married in such a beautiful, God-centered ceremony was incredibly special.

After years of living far apart, I love that life has brought us both back home — where we get to share this next chapter of family life together.

Congratulations, Lis & Andrew. May God continue to bless your union and the many years ahead. 🤍

On the drive to school this morning, I had “one of those talks” with my 16-year-old daughter. You know, the ones where you do all the talking. 😆

This one was about the inherent rewards of doing hard things.

I praised the dedication and focus she brings to the subjects she enjoys—the ones that come naturally to her.

Then we talked about putting that same effort into the ones she finds challenging and that don’t come naturally to her.

Because beyond the classroom, she’s gonna have responsibilities she doesn’t enjoy. Problems she didn’t choose. Difficulties she doesn’t understand.

We all do.

As parents, we have to give our kids opportunities to practice:

Doing hard things.
Enduring difficulties.
Putting in the effort, even when it doesn’t come naturally.

My daughter calls these my “coaching conversations” lol… But she does take them to heart. Why? because she sees me walk the walk, not just talk the talk! 💪🏽

Best weekend celebrating my bestie’s bachelorette in Philly! 🩷🥂

50+ style! 😂

Some of the same bachelorette-weekend traditions as in our 20s and 30s:

Dinners 🍽️
Dancing 💃
Spa time 🧖‍♀️
Lots of laughs and late-night girl-talks 🩷

But with a few adjustments…

No strippers ❌
No excessive alcohol—or hangovers 🙌 And we’ve redefined “late-night partying” as home by midnight. 😂

Turns out, bachelorette weekends at 50 are just as much fun (if not more)… 😉

Congratulations, Lis! We love you, and can’t wait to celebrate your October wedding 🤎 🧡

What I admired most about Dolly was her love for Jesus, and her generosity. 🩷 She didn’t just talk the talk—she lived it.

Beyond spreading love and joy through her music, she was a remarkable philanthropist.

Hundreds of millions of books given to children, millions of dollars toward education, medical research and families who had lost everything. She once said, “I think people who are in a position to help should put their money where their heart is.”

Dolly certainly did. 🩷

What a beautiful demonstration of using your God-given talents and financial blessings to bless others.

This summer we finally perfected our Sunday ritual.

Morning Mass ⛪️
Brunch spot ☕️🥞

And HOME 🏡 — running around with the dogs, reading books, taking g naps, and enjoying the quiet.

I love how the day just lingers… fully present. Nowhere to be but right here with each other. 🩷🩷🩷

I’m a big believer in family rituals and traditions.

If you had to sum up your summer so far in ONE word, what would it be?

Mine: NEW.

New to gardening (those are my zinnias on the cover, and Hibiscus in the slides) 🌸🌺😋

New to golf.

New hairstyle. ✂️

There’s something really fun about being 50 and still choosing NEW.

I’ve spent a lot of this summer getting my hands dirty and trying to find my swing. ⛳️

But mostly, I’ve just been enjoying our new home, lots of family time, and hanging in our yard— Watching everything we’ve planted grow (or die)…
Playing with the dogs.
Waving to the deer. 🦌
Rescuing a few baby birds 🐦 and just being fully present for it all.

We even had the exterior of our house repainted to blend in more with the natural setting. 🌿

And one pretty significant NEW thing: this is my first alcohol-free summer, probably since I was a teenager!! 😲 Almost 9 months without a drop (my husband and I both quit on our wedding anniversary, Dec 2nd) ❤️❤️ One of the biggest blessings could have given to each other.

New hobbies.
New choices.
New experiences.

At 50, I’m here for all of it.
