Beverley & Annette. it was a privilege to bring such different and wonderful women to life, and with this fantastic company. what a gift Gander was.

when Elliot was three months old @egroove did his first reading of @waitressmusical. if you think i, in my newly postpartum self, sobbed throughout the whole thing, you’d be right.😕 it touched me on such a deep level & for years i was amazed at how @sarabareilles had been able to put words to the massive changes that occur emotionally and the battle within that some of us have as we embark on the journey of motherhood.🤰the show became the soundtrack to El’s early years, & continues to be the show that keeps on giving.🥧 #sugarbutterfamily

i never share things like this. really. but this song has been in my soul for years, and finally having the opportunity to sing it on a stage was a gift - thank you for that @sellwoodstudionj.😚

tbh, I’d be lying if I didn’t feel like posting work we do was a requirement with regard to continuing to build our careers. these days it can feel a lot like screaming into the void with the way we self tape without connection in the room, to the detriment of all creatives😞, and that we have to turn to alternative ways of reminding the powers that be that we’re out there, still yearning to create magic and doing our best to make our own in the meantime.🥹

anyway. lots of feelings. thought I’d take this moment to share them and let anyone else who may be feeling this way out there know that they aren’t alone. bake your own magic….you never know how sweet the results will be.🩷

so incredibly proud of my husband, yet again. it was bliss to see him return to @moulinrougebway as Harold Zidler for the last three months of the run and close it out Aug 30th. 🌟

one of the things that drew me to @egroove 20 yrs ago was his talent - I mean, come on😝 #iykyk
not to mention his ability to transform with every role, keep folks guessing and make big choices - in his world, there is no box.🙃 his journey with #moulinrougebroadway was no different, all the way from the VERY FIRST table read in 2016 (swipe to see who else was there😉), to the workshop, his run post pandemic and now this final chapter - his Zidler was electric and a tour de force in my book.

love, you never cease to amaze and surprise me - on stage and in life as I live with the various characters you inhabit - and I count myself lucky to have a front row seat to the incredible career you continue to build, my Beast.❤️

standby: an off-stage actor hired to cover a single, highly demanding lead or star role.

THANK YOU to our fearless leader @jennifernettles for entrusting me with the responsibility of standing by for her in @giuliamusical - a powerful statement of feminine rage and action, and the role of a woman with extraordinary depth and passion, not to mention fierce songs. whether it was watching in the rehearsal room (with BOTH pair of glasses🫠#old), singing the sitzprobe so that she could hear the orchestrations layered onto her beautiful score, or stepping in during tech to support the company, it was a process and journey unlike any I’ve had before.

rarely does a role come along at the exact right moment, but this was one of those. we are in a time of awakening amongst women - no longer having patience for bullshit or patriarchal confines that we’ve lived in for so long, and this show feels immensely timely, not just for women as a collective, but particularly for me, myself. not a coincidence, I’m sure. from the first audition last year i’ve been obsessed with Giulia, her story and her voice, and it was an honor and a privilege to be a part of her power.

to JN, our director Mary Zimmerman, choreographer @austinmccormickxiv, MD GENIUS @adam_rothenberg, @adamzoto, @jesschase19, @pac_nyc and a company of creatives (🙌🏼 @lizovich & @myav.mp3), stage management and cast that kept me laughing and feeling beYOND supported from the jump - thank you. y’all are the best.🫶🏼

“the more they try & stop you, is the more you know they are afraid.” don’t let them stop you - stand strong in your power, and know your strength. thanks for the reminder. hope to see you again, Giulia.🥀
