We have been in complete awe as a family of the people who have reached out about Cierra. We have heard from so many people, schools, and associations that want to work with us and help make positive change.

My sister was the most passionate, driven person I have ever known. Cierra was kind, hilarious, compassionate, and a million more things. I could not have asked for a better role model and sister. Cierra dedicated her life to horses and becoming a large animal vet, and I remember often thinking that if i could find something to love even an ounce as much as she loved horses, i would be lucky. She showed me how to be dedicated, passionate, and care for others. She was an incredible person. I miss her so much.

I’m sad to share that my sister took her life on Sunday night. Please be there for anyone in your life you know is struggling. Mental health is more important than anything else in this world.

I wrote this poem yesterday when i was trying to find anyway possible to deal with her death. I wanted to share it because i hope it conveys how wonderful she was.

There’s dew on the morning grass Dads at the house cooking breakfast,  Grammy and Papa are drinking their coffee, My brother and I talk on the couch There’s dew on the morning grass  2 green paths cut through that sea of white,
Going to a barn, full of summer and spring and light, She’s out there with mom, trotting and laughing,
jumping around and taking flight,
There’s dew on that morning grass, alright
 She’s calling up the horses, shaking their feed loud and clear
She greets each by name and and showers them with affection, for all the world to hear,
She runs around the barn as a doctor,
mending and healing all she holds dear,
The dogs and cats follow her back and forth, hoping for a pat or treat or both She saddles up her favorite horse, one she knows like herself, and she’s off She’s out there in that dew on the morning grass. 
I love my sister dearly. Thank you to everyone who has reached out it means the world. If you are ever struggling, reach out to those around you. Theres so much help just a call away. by @jessmcadena

When i was packing up to move to college, i found my old Nintendo DS I XL, that i hadn’t touched in years, and joked to my brother that i should take photos with it in college. He told me why not actually do it, and so i took it with me to fish camp as a freshman and started a tradition i carried all of college. I took photos at tailgates, chilifests, fish camps, and anything else i wanted to remember in college. 4 years later now im sharing them all with you!

My favorite part of the DS is how excited and genuine everyone was when i took their photo with it. No one is self conscious about a low quality photo taken on a decade old video game device, so everyone’s smiles are so authentic and candid. I think its so beautiful.
