As September is wrapping up, which is suicide awareness month, we’d like to take a moment to recognize the mental health challenges that affect those in veterinary medicine.

We are saddened by the news of the recent passing of Dr. Cierra Cadena, a new graduate who was pursuing a career in equine medicine. Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and colleagues. Her family has set up a fund to honor her and support future equine veterinarians. If you would like to support, please consider sharing or donating. More information can be found on @jessmcadena page.

We encourage our veterinary community to visit https://nomv.org for resources/support.
