As autumn chills start to fill the air, I’m dreaming of one of my favorite days of the summer when we escaped the Florence city heat in favor of the beaches of Forte dei Marmi.

A fusion of Italian glamour and Nantucket relaxed coastal vibes - with gorgeous beaches and beach clubs, warm calm seas, a jaw dropping mountain backdrop, biking as the main mode of transport, and flowers at every turn - we could have easily here stayed here for weeks. 🚲⛱️🪻

Instead, we soaked it all up in one magical day @dalmaziabeach where we celebrated my daughter’s birthday with a scrumptious lunch and afternoon seaside, before heading into town for shopping, gelato and more! by @jetsetinspire

Unquestionably our top favorite European city hotel stay to date, @collegioauberge in Florence took our breath away from the moment we entered the meticulously restored 15th century frescoed doors. ✨

Just 12 minutes from the center of town, we discovered a luxurious and refined urban retreat, complete with heartfelt Auberge service, an insanely gorgeous swimming pool where they serve fresh out of the oven Florentine pizzas to your lounge chair, perfectly thought out and meticulously appointed guest rooms and suites (many with Duomo views and cocktail terraces), and dreamy dining spaces rolling out to expansive gardens - creating a true oasis for visitors to this increasingly busy city. 🌺

While a sojourn to Florence is filled with history, art and design, Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Collection presents a historic, cultural and design immersion all its own. The skylit Conservatory has been refashioned from the schoolyard of a renowned Florence educational institution where the children of the Ferragamo family once played, the sultry Bertelli Bar has cheekily been placed in the former headmaster’s office, the oak trees were consecrated as sacred by the Catholic Church in 1520, and magnificent design surprises lie around every architecturally stunning turn.

We’re pretty confident that this hotel is on its way to the tippy top of every
“World’s Best Hotels” List there is, so recommend booking in now before it sells out for next summer! by @jetsetinspire

Our summer adventures continued at Tuscany’s newest hotel gem @castelfalfi — a dazzling luxury resort property that exudes global sophistication and international appeal while the setting is unmistakably Tuscany — with vineyards, olive groves and charming villages at every turn.

Pulling up we expected a traditional Tuscan farmhouse and were instead greeted by sultry lobby that leads to an even more stunning aperitivo terrace where live music and Tuscan sunsets invited you to stay for just one more of the bartenders signature Aperol spritzes. 🍹

The suites were another stunning surprise with truly modern and state of the art fittings and amenities including a maxi-bar (the kids favorite!) with snacks and drinks refilled twice daily!

The spa is a collaboration with Bangkok’s cutting edge wellness concept @rakxawellness while the golf course (in progress) will be a partnership with @discoverylandcompany . Each element of the property has been expertly curated — from the Borgo, which features favorite local fashion brands, cafes and even gelatarias and sandwich shops from the surrounding area — to the duo of infinity pools, flanked by centuries old Medici-style gardens.

We loved hearing that hotel’s owner also added two additional pools on site that are open for use by the local community and has implemented many other projects - from reforestation to pond cleanups - to improve the lives of those living in the nearby surrounds. 😘

Favorite experiences during our stay include:
*Nightly aperitivo and live music on the terrace 🎶
*Dropping the kids at the fully staffed kids’ club for a pizza making class while we tasted some local wines 🍷
*An olive oil tasting and tour of the olive mill for the whole family 🫒
*Starlit outdoor movie nights 🍿
*Dinners of local favorites at Rosmarino plus a mini-break from Italian at the hotel’s Asian restaurant 🍣

From the hills of Monferrato, we journeyed to the majestic shores of Lake Como for a stay at the incredible @grandhotelvictoriamenaggio

Grand Hotel Victoria manages to be at once, exceptionally glamorous and extremely approachable. Classic Belle Epoque exteriors and a verdant lawn just steps from the shore lead the way to chic modern interiors and luxurious amenities — gorgeous outdoor and indoor pools, spa, and beach club and a lovely lakeside restaurant —with exceptional service throughout!

Highlights of our stay were:
*A splashy boat excursion on the hotel’s ERRE boat
*An afternoon and lunch at Victoria Beach Club, which has a separate area catering to the kiddos
*A morning spent relaxing in the pool and water features at the hotel’s Erre Spa
*Ultra decadent breakfasts each morning at the hotel’s Lago restaurant
*A divine dinner sceney hotspot Da Giacamo a Lago at Como institution @ghtlakecomo
*A casual hearty meal up the mountain with epic views @lafagurida
*Exploring the stunning @villacarlotta_lakecomo Museum and Gardens in Tremezzo by @jetsetinspire

During our time in Monferrato, Piedmont, we had a chance to stay @relaissantuffizio relaissantuffizio, a freshly renovated historic property, which is putting Monferrato on the map for global tastemakers. Nestled between the vines, this chic hideaway has a gorgeous swimming pool, meticulously appointed guest rooms and duplex family suites, Michelin-star dining and a sleek spa.

Just 1.5 hours from Milan, we discovered an authentic and distinctive part of Italy - where the villages are steeped with history, time turns back to a bygone era of simplicity and hidden unpretentious gems were just waiting to be discovered around the next mountain curve.

Wrapping up an amazing week in the hills of Monferrato, Piedmont where the girls had the chance to attend the incredible @villageforestschool - with nature and art focused curriculum, fantastic counselors, chef-prepared organic lunches, and an opportunity to meet new friends from around the world 🌍

One of the best parts of the experience was making connections and building a sense of community at the parent and family events throughout the week — from morning coffees in town, to pizza nights at the village oven, to a starlit wine dinner at the school - all hosted by the inimitable @luciemcculloughinteriors ✨

An awesome way to delve into the culture, food and wine of the region and start our adventures through Italy! 🇮🇹 Thanks for a great week @vfscamp by @jetsetinspire

We’re breaking down four properties across Uruguay and Chile here.

VIK Retreats is one of those hotel collections where once you experience it, you can’t help but go back...or try their other properties.

What makes them so intriguing? Architecture that responds to its surroundings, art commissioned specifically for each space, and hospitality that feels less like a hotel and more like staying in someone’s beautifully curated home.

Whether you want countryside seclusion on a working ranch, avant-garde beachfront design, a laid-back family escape in the dunes, or a wine country retreat between the Pacific and the Andes—there’s a VIK for that.

Which one are you trying first?

One of the main reasons we chose August for our Hong Kong trip (despite the heat and humidity!) was because it’s a very special month of celebrations for our family. Celebrating our 20-year wedding anniversary and our eldest daughter Carolina’s 10th birthday - we spent most of our married years in HK and she was born there!

When it came to selecting a hotel for celebrating these special milestones, @mo_hkg was an obvious front runner! Whenever we had family in town while living in HK, we always had them stay at the Mandarin, as I feel that it truly encapsulates the best of Hong Kong. Plus, when we started Dim Sum & Then Some, our very first email newsletter was about the reopening of the Mandarin, and my bestie and business partner @neveen.innerdale and I looked upon both @mo_landmarkhk and the original Mandarin Oriental as our offices away from home, for everything from decadent afternoon tea meetings to Hainanese Chicken Rice-fueled brainstorm sessions - not to mention our amazing event collabs with both properties over the years!

We were so thrilled to be back at this hotel, which held so many amazing memories and to truly experience it from the perspective of a travel advisor (and a traveler) with my clients in mind.

Who it’s ideal for:
- Business Travelers with meetings on HK island, couples who like dining on the scene in town and families with young children who will be hitting the highlight sites (Ocean Park, Peak Tram, Star Ferry, Mid-Levels escalator)

Why stay here:
- Hong Kong vibes throughout with subtle British colonial influence and impeccable service, a bevy of dining and drinks options from the epic “Mandarin Breakfast” at Cafe Causette to Afternoon Tea at the Clipper Lounge, to izakaya dining and cocktails at The Aubrey and Michelin Chinese dining at Man Wah.
- Central location with elevated walkways, which will take you anywhere you want to go in Central and beyond
- Off the charts service and attention to detail and a beautiful Club Lounge if business is required

Think it’s safe to say - We Are FANS!
