It’s a wrap 🎬

What an adventure we have had in Normandy shooting @hailssasha’s beautiful film! Working with our phenomenal cast @jeannebalibar and @grainnedrom and our passionate and talented international crew was so inspiring, and I am in awe of our DOP @h.y.niu who achieved miracles, and producers @jojo.v.salmuth and @sarditarekrevival, who ran a tight ship with humour and joy. ❤️

It really was a labour of love, with the support and passion of so so many 🥰

Excited to see the film take shape in post, and to hear the score from the genius that is @oldfishthinfins who composed and played (with clarinetist @ghislainehervet) in the film too.

🎬❤️

Written and directed by @hailssasha
Produced by @jevafilms, @jojo.v.salmuth and French partner @sarditarekrevival (for @3emegenreproduction)
Cinematographer @h.y.niu
Huge thanks to @sonyprofilmmaking, @picseyes_services @picseyes_films and @tsf.fr for all your trust and support. taken in Normandy, France by @jevafilms

NINA FOREVER gets called a gleeful subversion of horror.

That’s not how it felt to make it.

Now that it’s back on Shudder in the US, we’ve been reflecting on the unexpected lessons it forced on us.

Here are three. Horror audiences tend to see things other people miss, so I’m curious to see how this resonates with you all…

You haven’t seen this... and you really should.

This is the original silent trailer we made for #NinaForever, which we shared privately with our Kickstarter backers while we were still filming.

It showcases the beautiful work of @olirusselldop and includes material that never made the final cut. Built around a track by @amandapalmer (whose music runs deep through the finished film), this was our first real attempt to capture the feeling of what we were making.

Chris cut this, and it stayed with me all the way through a painful post-production process as the clearest expression of what the film wanted to be.

If you’re in the US, Nina Forever is streaming on @shudder right now.
If this stopped your scroll, keep it.🖤

Did you miss her? 🖤 Over the moon that our dropped dead gorgeous Nina is returning to Shudder in the US, ten years after she first graced cinema screens.

“Had Richard Curtis wrote the script for a rom-com directed by David Cronenberg”

“A film of rare import and vision”

BIFA winning cult horror and no, I know you’re not over it yet x
