Here you see @sven.ironside channelling his most angelic robot look while buried under approximately 20 kg of uncooked rice and some bubble wrap.

He remained perfectly still for the entire take - no blinking, no movement. At some point we wondered whether he had fully transcended into appliance mode.

Most filmmakers are too scared to admit this: their instincts for avoiding failure are making their films worse.

Before we made NINA FOREVER, we wrote a manifesto. Rules designed not to make filmmaking easier but harder. Scarier. No safety net.

Swipe through. Then watch the film on Shudder and see whether we kept our nerve.
Save this if you make films. It might start an argument with yourself you’ve been avoiding.

NINA FOREVER gets called a gleeful subversion of horror.

That’s not how it felt to make it.

Now that it’s back on Shudder in the US, we’ve been reflecting on the unexpected lessons it forced on us.
