🔥 JUST LAUNCHED: The Caring Majority Election Defense Guidebook! –  a bilingual resource to help you prepare for the midterm elections so we can defend Medicaid and home care, and win a more caring New York! (Swipe for Spanish!)

Read for info on: ✅ Get Out the Vote (GOTV) resources ✅ Know Your Rights info if ICE is present at polling sites ✅ Voting access info for older adults and people with disabilities

Read the guidebook ASAP to make sure you’re prepared for the midterms and share it far and wide!
➡️ nycaringmajority.org/defend-democracy

Shoutout to @LookLoud for designing many of the graphics featured in the guidebook. Give them a follow!

Let’s defend our democracy and win big for care at the polls this November.

#ElectionDefense #GOTV #VotingAccess #Medicaid #HomeCare Protecting Medicaid and home care ultimately depends on a functioning democracy where votes count and constituents can safely cast them.

New Yorkers with a relationship to home care are the exact populations most at risk of being pushed out of the electorate: immigrant workers wary of ICE activity at polling sites, and older and disabled New Yorkers who already face access barriers to voting.

Graphic: Overdue. They’d rather rig the rules than fund health care.

Accessibility is everything! READ & SHARE this guide to defend our democracy & ensure the will of the people is heard at the ballot box during the 2026 midterm elections! by @jfrejnyc

Last night, JFREJ members leading our End Deportations campaign met at @manyhandsnyc to do some planning and scheming for the year ahead. There’s so much work to do to get ICE out of NYC, end deportations, make NYC and NY State a true sanctuary for immigrants, and, of course, abolish ICE.

To do it all, we need YOU! Go to jfrej dot org slash events to sign up for our next campaign meeting on October 28. Link in stories! by @jfrejnyc

Yesterday, one of our fellow New Yorkers was kidnapped by ICE outside a court room in Federal Plaza, in direct violation of the most recent federal ruling. This kidnapping came just days after ICE agents surrounded and shot Oscar Belgal in front of his five-year-old child, and NYPD brutalized New Yorkers who showed up to protest ICE violence .

Yesterday, we showed up at Councilmember Feliz’s Bronx office with one ask: hold a hearing on the CURB Act.

Instead, we were met with police barricades, a shut-down block, and counterprotesters who put hands on people in our group while NYPD officers watched.

This is how the SRG handles peaceful protest. It’s time for accountability.

27 Council Members already back Int. 796. Councilmember Feliz, schedule the hearing.

Disband the SRG. Pass the CURB Act. ✊ by @jfrejnyc

We showed up at Councilmember Feliz’s office in the Bronx this morning with one ask: hold a hearing on the CURB Act.

What we got was police barricades, a fully shut-down block, and counterprotesters who put hands on people in our group while NYPD officers watched.

That’s the SRG model in action: treat protest as a threat, protect the people who escalate, and call it public safety.

26 Council Members already back Int. 796, so we’re only a few votes away. Councilmember Feliz, schedule the hearing.

Disband the SRG. Pass the CURB Act. ✊ by @jfrejnyc
