POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
In 2016, Officer Wayne Isaacs shot and killed Delrawn Small. In the decade since, he’s lied and distorted his story, to argue that the murder he committed was…justified.

They say it’s justified, but there’s no justice.

The CCRB trial must move forward without further delay. The Public Advocate speaks behind a sign reading "#FireWayneIsaacs for Delrawn Small" as family members and advocates listen

This past Sunday we hosted Jewish Currents Live: A Day of Politics and Culture in Brooklyn.

We’ll be reflecting on JC Live for a long time (and there are many more photos to come!). But the heart of the day was unquestionably the 1500 people who showed up in the rain—plus hundreds more who tuned in online—to discuss, to debate, to connect, and to build. Here are just a few photos of the folks who made this day special.

JC Live was a collective effort made possible by many, many hands. Thank you to:
- Our 24 (!) partner organizations
- The 50+ speakers and performers who traveled from near and far
- Our production partner, Dangerously Persistent
- Our host venue, BAM, and their incredible staff
- Our photographers Marissa Alper, Maya Coplin, Rafael Shimunov, and Emily Teague (all photos in this post are by @rafternoon and @marissaalper)
- The 100+ volunteers who made the day run smoothly
- @koskaffe, who fed our volunteers and speakers
- Our generous donors, without whom none of this could have happened!

Yesterday, we showed up at Councilmember Feliz’s Bronx office with one ask: hold a hearing on the CURB Act.

Instead, we were met with police barricades, a shut-down block, and counterprotesters who put hands on people in our group while NYPD officers watched.

This is how the SRG handles peaceful protest. It’s time for accountability.

27 Council Members already back Int. 796. Councilmember Feliz, schedule the hearing.

Disband the SRG. Pass the CURB Act. ✊
