We named her Lillian, after the wonderful lady who gifted me this instrument ~ my first metal clarinet! Thank you to my high school friend @corbert0 for thinking of me when his parents started going through old things in the closet and discovered his grandfatherโ€™s H. Bettoney, Boston-made, WWII-era clarinet. Lillian (Corbettโ€™s mom) wasnโ€™t quite sure what to do with it. It seems to have been a pretty big purchase for her grandfather, especially given the economy at the time and his frugal nature. Regardless of its monetary value, I knew I had been bestowed a treasure of Corbettโ€™s family and wanted to get it playable again. Shoutout to Stevie for refurbishing Lillian, and she really sings now. I just hope I can take care of her and keep her singing for another generation ๐Ÿ’ž by @jfunk.world

This Friday 9/25 at @tempehistorymuseum ! Please join JFUNK for an hour of original music and lore. We love having the opportunity to get a lil more intimate with our fans, so we hope you come down for this free community event ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’‹ Jerusafunk (JFUNK) is a Phoenix-based six-piece ensemble whose original music draws inspiration from klezmer, funk, Brazilian rhythms, jazz, and Afrobeat. Fronted by an uncommon horn section of clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, and baritone sax, the band blends captivating improvisation with intricate world rhythms and deep grooves into an immersive live experience. Their performances feel less like concerts and more like celebrations, inviting audiences to dance across cultures and musical traditions. JFUNK has shared the stage with George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Ozomatli, MarchFourth Marching Band, Grandmaster and Har Mar Superstar. ๐ŸŽถMusic 7-8 ๐Ÿ“ธPhoto courtesy of @tempecityarts #tempeplaylist by @jfunk.world
Sneak peek into my crates for the epic @paoafrobeat & @jfunk.world show tomorrow night 9/11 at @lastexitlive. I am sooo stoked for this show yโ€™all. Long before I ever started DJโ€™ing, I was buying Congolese & Ghanaian records that reminded me of the beautiful music I heard while I was living in Mozambique. So I cooked up an epic around the world funky dance set (with a LOT of African & middle eastern influence) & I cannot wait! Doors at 7PM, Iโ€™ll be playing before the bands, in between & after โญ๏ธ by @jfunk.world

TEMPE NOISE TAKEOVER 2026 September 18th and 19th 50 bands โ€ข 4 venues โ€ข 2 days โ€ข 0 dollars All proceeds to TAMC. @jfunk.world Tempe are you ready for some horn-fueled mayhem?? Jerusafunk (JFUNK) brings you some Sonoran psychedelia colored with virtuosic melodies, pedal-soaked textures, and global ideations. Driven by clarinet, saxophones, trumpet, guitar, bass, and layered percussion, the Phoenix-based ensemble crafts a sound that is equal parts desert street parade, psychedelic dance party, and funk orkestar. Drawing inspiration from klezmer, samba, cumbia, and free jazz, JFUNKโ€™s high-energy performances invite audiences to move first and ask questions later. Performing in configurations ranging from six to nine musicians, most often as an eight-piece ensemble, JFUNK has spent more than two decades building a reputation for explosive live shows and genre-defying compositions. The band has shared stages with George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Ozomatli, MarchFourth, and Har Mar Superstar while bringing their unique brand of psychedelic desert funk to festivals, clubs, and dance floors across the Southwest. by @jfunk.world
