Chicago power pop quartet @timethieveschicago’s new single “Biking Through Berlin” is premiering right now on @newnoisemagazine and it hits streaming services everywhere at midnight! 🚲

The bright, dreamy track is a whimsical, if hopeless, travelogue. Guitarist/vocalist Jonathan Pool woke up one morning with most of the song rattling around in his head after falling asleep while watching Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited.

“Biking Through Berlin” is the band’s first release and recording with new bassist Micki Harris, and a first look at new material coming next year. Time Thieves features members of Chicago punk bands The Brokedowns, Sass Dragons, Hospital Job, Brickfight, and Horrible Things.

Tune in to @wxavchicago tonight, where the band will play the new single on-air and host a curated playlist including a ton of local bands like @theearrivals, @honorsystemband, @thelawrencearms, @fig.dish, and more.

Catch them on the road to FEST later this week!
10/17 – Louisville, KY @ Mag Bar w/ Jon Snodgrass

1) Screaming at Awesome Fest w/ VBS and @katowesadogmoney and accidentally kicking Joe Dana in the face (2010)

2) Filling in on drums for VBS and only slightly disappointing @johnny_vbs with my lackluster skills (2009)

3) Screaming with VBS, falling down, and getting picked up by Ryan at Ian’s Party (2015?)

4) Needless to say, extremely happy and excited to be sharing a stage with my longtime friends in Vacation Bible School this Saturday. Also stoked to see @armadilloinvasion for the first time!

Long lost all time favorite photo (recently unearthed by my mom) of me and my grandma smoking cigs outside of a Cracker Barrel in Arlington Texas in 2001. Points for anyone who can identify this shirt. by @jgpool

See you at 10:20 pm on Friday, October 23, 2026 in the 100 block of SW 1st Avenue in Gainesville FL, USA for the 24th annual celebration of @thefestfl ?

For clarity- we’ll be in the southwest quadrant of the building, onstage with guitars and stuff. Should be *relatively* easy to spot, but hmu if you have any issues/questions. 🎓 by @jgpool

This flier hung on the door to our practice space from the day I taped it up to promote the show in July of TWO THOUSAND ELEVEN until the day I took it down when we moved outta Kildare Studios a few months back, 15 years later.

Absolutely mindblowing that it stayed up so long without getting ripped down or at least tagged up. It was there for so long that I started demarcating time spent in that room with the flier itself- I didn’t think it was possible, but somehow we had the same practice space there for like 17 years, haha. That’s literally longer than I’ve lived in any house my entire life.

Incredibly epic show at Lucky Gator Loft 2 as well- I believe this was also the show in the dead of summer that someone accidentally turned the heat on when they leaned against the thermostat and everyone almost died, but someone correct me if I’m wrong on that.

This was a benefit show for our buddy Billy from Minot when their town flooded- hence the stacked ass lineup and amazing raffle gifts from @quimbysbookstore and @bucketoblood back when @marc_ruvolo still owned it. These fliers were digitally printed on stolen 11x17 paper at the Chicago Playboy offices by @msig .

It’s also great to know I’m still friends with or in bands with all the folks in the bands on this bill.
Time is insane, let’s all agree on that much at least.

This flier was artfully matted and mounted into a punk-safe frame for museum ready hanging by my wonderful wife @forever_moody.

Nostalgia rant over, thank you for stopping by. taken in Pulaski and Grand by @jgpool
