Wings of Fire themed cake for Ella’s NINTH bday! She’s is growing fast 🥲 Aunt Jana was so excited for a requested vanilla cake with pistachio filling. Also everything is all natural food coloring and buttercream (except the black horns and eyes).

The natural food coloring was very interesting to work with. Gave myself time to mix colors and see how they “changed” with time or acid. Also wanted to make sure they didn’t taste weird. The red had an odd flavor but everything else was fine! by @jhavey

Ninth wedding cake in the books. One of my favorite flavors, almond raspberry. It’s just so good! Tried to pack in as much raspberry as I could be also didn’t want any leakage. I could have added a bit more for the cake ratio. The bride had a lovely variety of flowers available to decorate with but I loved the dusty pink carnations and daisys. by @jhavey

My nephew is obsessed with @lego so for his birthday, I had to make a Lego cake! He also requested it to be pineapple flavored which was lovely to make :) I do love vanilla/chocolate but I love executing less common flavors!!

Year 5!! Annual Lesbian New Years Day hike with these awesome ladies 🥰 one of my favorite traditions we started. Original hike location was closed, happened upon a limpkin, and then made it out to Sheldon Lake State Park. by @jhavey

Wowowow another banger. I’ve had @thaidiner on my “to eat” list forever and happily checked it off.

Uncle Boon’s Khao Pat Puu-KILLER crab fried rice. I was pouring the seafood nam prik all over it too. So damn good.

Roti Kaeng Fak Tong-roti with pumpkin curry. I wanted the roti to be crispier but it reminded me of a really good, fluffy tortilla. I wanted to eat the pumpkin curry by the spoonful but it definitely had a slow burn.

Phat See Eew w/chicken- This rivals my favorite place in Houston. Noodles were a bit softer that I prefer but that crispy chicken skin blew my mind. 😮‍💨

Laab-So flavorful! I not usually a lamb fan but this was probably my favorite lamb dish. The grassiness of the protein and the aromatics in the dish were perfect together. The only thing that stopped me from eating more was the chile kick.

Uncle Boon’s Coconut Sundae- holyyy shiiiit…Coconut gelato, coconut caramel, palm sugar whipped cream, toasted coconut, candied peanuts. Definitely in my most memorable dessert rankings. I’m drooling as I reminisce about the first bite of this beauty. It’s everything I want…Salty, sweet, crunchy, with a silky gelato, fuck me up.

WOW. @fourhorsemenbk lunch was absolutely phenomenal…best meal I’ve had this year and one that will continue to be on my mind. I wanted a fistful of those fritters to gnaw on. Big dashi, umami note and the chermoula had a very comforting, homey flavor. The farfalle was so delicate and never felt rich or heavy with the comté. Honestly, I could sing praises about everything we had. Definitely need to do dinner here next time! (Ps, see the little dude in the miso broth? 🤣)

Jasmine coconut, mango swirl, toasted coconut crumb

I fell in love with coconut milk perfumed with jasmine after having shwe yin aye, a dessert of sticky rice, jellies, and pearls in chilled coconut milk from @burmalicious_by_suu . I was inspired to create her dessert in ice cream but I wasn’t sure how well jellies would freeze. Freezer friendly jellies are definitely on my list of things to experiment with! A mango swirl added some fresh, acidic notes was lovely with the jasmine. by @jhavey
