This past Wednesday I got invited to @strava sessions to talk and learn about community, clubs and the functionality of the Strava ecosystem. Very thankful to the team at Strava and @gunterwerner for the invite and all the insights shared. Business first, gravel second—but still managed to find the podium! 🥉🏜️

After 5 days of booth setup and working the floor at Sea Otter, the legs were definitely feeling the "work" part of the week. I made the call to pivot to the 30-mile race instead of the 60 or 90; I knew I still had to give my best at the booth post-race, and showing up completely shattered wasn't an option.

With zero expectations but a competitive itch, I lined up right at the front. One rider took off the second we hit the gravel. Having pre-ridden the course and knowing how brutal it was, I figured he’d eventually dangle back... I never saw him again. Total machine.

That left three of us battling for the remaining spots. Just before the halfway mark, the second-place rider attacked. I hesitated—I was worried about blowing up before the hardest sectors—and let him go. Looking back, I definitely had the legs to follow, especially since the guy left on my wheel refused to take a single pull.
I essentially dragged him across the entire course. Since he wouldn't contribute or agree to a clean finish, I had to get tactical. I knew I had the better bike handling and beefier tires, so I pushed the pace through the technical sections to create gaps. He kept clawing back, but I saved one last match for the Corkscrew. I went all out on the steepest pitch, finally snapped the elastic, and put 30 seconds into him on the descent to the line.

The highlight? Seeing my coworker @korishaw right before the finish! I grabbed a high five and crossed the line with a wheelie just for the fun of it.

This marks my 3rd international gravel race (shoutout to @laepica.gravel last month and Unbound 200 ‘23) and only my 4th ever. I’m learning more every time I line up. I probably could have pushed harder for 1st or 2nd, but the goal was to have fun and represent, and we definitely checked those boxes.

4 years of attending, finally 1 day of racing. 🦦

Lined up for the 30-mile gravel race at Sea Otter Classic and managed to grab 3rd place! 🥉 The course was no joke—3,500ft of climbing and some seriously loose, high-speed descents.

Squadra Miami travels to Puerto Rico for @laepica_gravel
Here is recap for stage 2 & 3 what a crazy fun race from technical singletrack to sticky mud and smooth fast gravel. Beautiful views and start/ finish at a fantastic beach resort. Sign us up for 2027!

A different view, the same fire. 🔥

Taking it all in from the sidelines last Sunday was a total shift in perspective. Watching the boys navigate such a complex race was incredible—they really went to battle out there. @calci_bike putting up a fight in the break and tough break for @jhoanpaez22 with an early flat, but we keep moving forward.

Grateful for the lessons learned in the quiet moments. 🏎️✨

🔥 3rd race of the Winter Series 2026 🔥

It was a very tough week, defending Antonio Guzman’s overall lead in Cat 40 the best way possible, giving everything on the road as a team. 💪

At the same time, congrats to City Bikes for their excellent performance and great teamwork in the Pro 1-2 category. Top-level racing 👏

We stay focused, working hard, and looking forward to being on the same level next weekend and putting up a strong fight.
