🍗 HALAL TAIWANESE FRIED CHICKEN IN THE UK 🇬🇧

If you’re looking for a seriously tasty halal food spot, you need to try @jichickens! 🍗🔥

I always make a stop here whenever I’m visiting London. They’re usually busy with queues spilling onto the streets of Chinatown, but if you’ve tried @jichickens, you’ll know why — their authentic Taiwanese fried chicken is consistently so good! 🤌🏼

And my absolute favourite? The POPCORN CHICKEN. 😍

Think crispy little chicken nuggets, perfectly seasoned, with that touch of magic… a sprinkling of chilli, lemon & garlic and voilà! 🌶️🍋🧄 The perfect crispy, flavoursome halal chicken snack.

And it’s not just London! @jichickens has locations across the UK, and it’s actually one of my favourite places to frequent in Leeds too. So wherever you are, when that halal fried chicken craving hits… you know where to head! 💯

Tried volcanic cheesy chicken from @jichickens and it was so crunchy and cheesy!!

The chicken skin is the star of the show, super crispy and has a nice spice rub on it. I wish the chicken itself also had some spice; it felt a bit bland but overall loved the combo. 7/10

And this lychee green tea with lychee coconut jelly was so good and refreshing. 9/10

GOOD FRIEND CHICKEN – CHINATOWN LONDON

This might genuinely be the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Taiwanese-style fried chicken and honestly… the Asians just don’t miss. Every time I try an Asian food trend they’re somehow innovating something better 😭

Good Friend Chicken @jichickens has a few branches around London and if they’re all this good, I’ve got a new obsession.

What I got:
Chicken Popcorn – £7.50 Mate… This was heavenly.

Everything was cooked to order, the queue was out the door and after one bite I completely understood why.

Perfectly crispy, ridiculously crunchy, juicy inside and not greasy whatsoever. Just proper fried chicken done right.

They even give you different seasonings on the side if you want to customise it, but I didn’t even bother because it was already perfect as it was.

Sometimes less is more.

Final Rating: 10/10

I genuinely don’t know how you improve this.

Fresh, crispy, juicy and packed with flavour without relying on loads of sauce.

My only regret is not trying more off the menu because if this is the standard, I need to come back ASAP.

If you’re in Chinatown, do yourself a favour and don’t leave without trying this. This spot deserves every bit of the hype. 🍗🔥
