just a little life update - Dallas, I’m finally coming for you!!! 🥹 To know me is to know that Texas has been a dream of mine- ever since college, the Lord put it on my heart, but I never really knew why. After my move there fell through a few years ago, I wasn’t quite sure the door would ever open back up again & honestly, it was a broken dream that I had to put a way for a while. But in the Lord’s incredible timing & kindness- after bringing me the gift of living in Nashville, to moving back home to Georgia for a year, I am SO over the moon to say I am officially making my way to dallas 🥹 The array of emotions is REALLL but more than anything I am just so expectant of the Lord & all He wants to do with this new little journey!!! Lived a whole lot of life in my 20’s and couldn’t think of a better way to spend my last year of ‘em then in my favorite place in the whole wide world!!! Can’t wait for all the dances, friends & BBQ to come- I’ll see you soon, Tex 🤪🤠 by @jiggywithjo
This one is honestly kind of hard to wrap my head around. 🥹 When I started putting To The Barn together, I hoped people would show up. I hoped Nashville would get behind it. But seeing people make plans to come from Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, Memphis, Johnson City, and beyond is absolutely mind blowing. Different cities. Different dance communities. Different people who all share the same love for this little world of country dance — coming together at one barn in Springfield, Tennessee. And something I’m realizing through all of this is that it goes way beyond just the communities represented at this event. Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to travel, film, dance, and meet people from communities all over. Some of them will be at the barn, and some won’t — but getting to know each community, seeing what makes them different, and making friendships across state lines has been one of my favorite parts of all of this. That’s what makes the country dance community so special to me. It’s bigger than one bar, one city, one organization, or one dance floor. To Sunset Coast Country Dancers, Whiskey Jills, Cincy Country Swing, Georgia Country Swing, The Line Up, every individual traveling in, AND all the other communities I’ve gotten the chance to meet along the way — thank you. Whether you’re making the trip October 10th or cheering this thing on from hundreds of miles away, I’m incredibly thankful to know you and to be a small part of your community too. I wanted to throw a dance in a barn. Somehow, it turned into bringing pieces of the country dance world together. That’s freaking cool. 🤠❤️ by @jiggywithjo

🪩Laredo🪩 @officialangiek 💃🏻 @dancingwithemma_ 💃🏻 @jiggywithjo This post is a special one… Today is @howdyitscowgirljo birthday! Happy birthday to my best friend. Jordan, I truly don’t know what I would do without you. You’re my biggest cheerleader, my favorite person to talk to, and having you as my best friend has been one of the greatest gifts life has given me. Honored to call you my best friend and I can’t wait to celebrate you today! You deserve every bit of it. Love you always🫶🏼 I figured it was fitting given not only that Jordan is my best friend, but also the fact that it’s her birthday, that my first post of me as a lead is a video of me leading Jordan! I started taking leading seriously back in January with the propose of becoming a better teacher and dancer in general. I knew it would help me grow my knowledge and understand the dance from both roles, and also be able to teach better. I have discovered along the way that leading is hard and I don’t always enjoy it; being a follow is much more fun lol. It’s so aggravating that in my brain I know what my body needs to do when I’m leading but it’s hard to actually do that haha. But as I continue to grow my skill as a lead, I am enjoying it more and more every day. And I’ve been forcing myself to compete so that I have no choice but to keep learning and becoming a better lead for my follows. I’m proud of the progress I’ve made since January, even though I know I have a longgggg way to go. I also want to thank my other best friend @mikereichdance for being the best dance teacher and helping me learn all these months. I owe it all to you. I appreciate you, your friendship, and your dance partnership more than you know.🫶🏼 by @jiggywithjo
