Landscape of Mothers is growing! What began as a book that I wrote to help myself parent my children in healthier and more supportive ways now includes The Inner Mother Deck! This is a hand-drawn deck of 72 cards… some of the best questions I’ve asked myself in the last 10 years. This deck has been grounded and blessed by community, with love and deep care. I’m grateful for this journey, it’s healed so much in me around belonging. 💗

When growing our Inner Mother, we are often looking back into the family line for the gaps in attunement and nurturing that we missed. But our ancestors can also provide connections to our strengths. This can often be the piece that helps balance our sense of inherent woundedness. No matter who your family was, and even if you didn't know them, your ancestors have traits, skills, and values that you can connect to in there here and now.

I've walked much of my life with the story of The Ugly Duckling. It's just one of those stories that pops up repeatedly with new bits of wisdom for me.

Recently I realized that the story describes the journey of the duckling (actually a swan) orienting to his own Inner Mother until he finds belonging.

I'm offering a workshop called Orienting to the Inner Mother, and we're going to use The Ugly Duckling story to make our way to the inner guidance, this time, without so much trial and error. Hope you can join me!

Lately I've been getting really granular with how I'm naming my experience. And thinking back to childhood I was always called "the old soul" or told I was a "good girl" (not always, mind you... these definitions seemed to flip on a dime, which probably should have been my first clue that it wasn't really about me). Anyway, I wrote this article for all of the "old soul" children and our reclamation of ourselves as adults.

Writing down the seeds I am planting in this new moon in cancer. For now, saving my “seeds” for planting at the end of the week. I don’t always work with the astrology of the moment, but I do when it feels particularly relevant. This way, I don’t get overly bound to timelines, but I do show up to what feels like mine to work with. And, planting some strength in the mother/home arena feels correct.

I’m doing a free workshop called Orienting to the Inner Mother a few different times in August, if you also feel like you’re fortifying the Inner Mother spaces.
