i’m not sure where to start. sophia, my best friend, passed away on friday evening.

sophia, you were my whole world. i love you more than words can describe, and i wouldn’t trade our time together for anything. you came into my life when i needed you most, and i can never repay you for how you’ve saved me. all the lessons you taught me, the trials we faced together. you tried so hard and never gave up. your rehabilitation days were the hardest, but you always pushed through. on my 18th birthday, i spent the whole day terrified, waiting for you to come out of spinal surgery. but you came back even stronger, and i’m so proud of you. it was amazing to watch your success in the show ring with alanna. i’m so sorry i couldn’t be there to say goodbye. i would give anything to see your face one last time.

thank you sophia for being my teacher, my friend, and my dream come true. you were my first horse, and will forever be the best chestnut mare to walk this earth. the day you passed marked 4 years since getting my tattoo of you… i will always carry you with me. rest easy, my sweet girl. 💜 by @jilliansnapp
