🚨 Solo venture from myself @thelatest_band frontman,
Jim Patterson. A Hampshire hog 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 dusting off some lost songs & penning some new ones ✍️ 🎧👇

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

October 2025, supporting my good friend Daniel Ash on the acoustic leg of his @teenagewaitress album launch @blackstarrecordsuk in Lyndhurst.

As you can see, both of us are purveyors of fine footwear & have also known each other since our early days on the Southampton music scene. It’s always nice to catch up & reminisce with Dan, & he’s a fine songwriter too ✍️

Check him out… 🎶

Some good news! My first track is now live on @spotifyuk & most of the other popular streaming sites.

The track I’ve released is called ‘Moving on’ a song that I wrote last year after my Dad passed away. Originally I put it up on my bands page, but it never really felt like a ‘Latest’ song, more like the odd one out.

I recorded this track with my good friend @aliwalkeraudio & it came together pretty quickly.

Please do give ‘Moving on’ a listen and maybe even add it to your playlist, if you want to be super supportive!

If you’d like to check it out the Spotify link is in my bio 🔗

Hopefully the first of many! 💘 Enjoy.

On Tuesday 10th November, I shall be returning to one of my favourite venues, The Joiners in Southampton. A place where I spent a big part of my twenties, either playing or watching the next big thing take to that famous stage.

This time I’ll be testing the water with a solo acoustic set. You can expect new songs, old songs & maybe the odd crowd pleaser.

This will be a real trip down memory lane for me & something I’ve wanted to do for years.

To make things even more interesting, I’ll be supporting the legendary American drag artist, @flamygrant so you know you’ll be in for some humour & top class entertainment 🇺🇸 💃 🎶

Big shout out to @patjoiners for sorting this one out.

I owe you one mate… 😉 @joinerslive

The next song I’m looking to release was written in England, & recorded last month @lasierracasa in Spain 🇪🇸

The single version features the super talented @rosiealicemusic on backing vocals & harmonies. ✨

I’m really buzzing about releasing this one, so I thought I’d share this little barebones acoustic clip for now.

Release date coming soon… 🕊️

Songwriters, helping each other find new musical avenues to go down & changing a songs direction, with a chord change & a simple riff.

Lovely stuff 😎

Playing random covers, encouraging others, writing throwaway songs with your mates
& drinking pints of tea 🫖 🍺

‘There’s plenty of room for all of this & more at La Hotel Sierra Casa’ 🦅 🎶 🏨

Good times were had! 🎶 ☀️ 🍻 🎼

It’s also the first time I’ve played in a band while wearing

One of many one2one chats with @jamesallan.gv of Glasvegas fame. ⚡️

I went into this year’s retreat knowing a fair bit about
The View, lots about The Libertines but only really knowing the songs ‘Daddy’s Gone’ & ‘Geraldine’ by Glasvegas. I sort of liked that because I knew it would be a totally different experience to meeting Kyle or Carl again.

I warmed to James quite quickly, his friendly nature & dry Scottish wit was evident straight away. We’re also both of a similar age with similar interests, so we had lots in common & plenty to talk about.

I think by the end of the week, everyone loved James. I also like to think that he went home having enjoyed the experience too, meeting so many people from different backgrounds with one thing bonding us all together, Music.

Here’s a clip of a song called ‘Best Life’ that I wrote for my group @thelatest_band

I played this stripped back version of it on the @grinddiaries_podcast a couple of years ago… 🎙️

Lyrically it’s one of favourites & I think it sounds good with just one voice & a guitar 🎸 Barebones I think they call it ☠️
