❤️‍🔥 FOR SALE / FOR CHARITY ❤️‍🔥

Handpainted vintage genuine suede vest + official embossed and signed print of the original Nightlife artwork by the incredible @jimfitzpatrick !!! ❤️‍🔥🐆

DM @witchywomanclothing TO CLAIM. The buyer will donate the money for purchasing the pack directly to the charity.

This is a vintage item that has been handpainted. The laces on the sides have been completely replaced with new ones, and can be opened to fit a larger person or fit over a jacket. The matching gold buttons on the front were sewn on by my 90 year old neighbour, so this is truly a community effort! This is the first vintage item I ever purchased for myself. I did so while living in Rome, I have loved it and worn it and it means a lot to me! DM for measurements. If it doesn't fit you, it would still make a cool wall hanging/decoration for your record corner!
✨🖤 The design I chose to paint is the black panther detail from the album Nightlife by Thin Lizzy, designed by the amazing @jimfitzpatrick ! 🖤✨

The money from this sale will be donated to the @thepcrf , a charity that "provides medical and humanitarian relief collectively and individually to children throughout the Levant, regardless of their nationality or religion", and has 4/4 stars on Charity Navigator.

We ask that the buyer covers the tracked shipping.

JIM FITZPATRICK — IDENTITY, CREATIVITY & EDUCATION

A little something from Saturday’s ATAI National Conference 2026 at The Model, Sligo.

This was my first National Conference as ATAI President, which I had the privilege of opening and coordinating alongside our brilliant Committee, and I’m really pleased to finally share the edited film of my conversation with Jim Fitzpatrick.

Rather than the usual questions about Jim’s career, I used objects, primary sources and cultural references from my own practice as prompts for memories, stories and connections.

The 90-minute conversation has been edited around four strands:

• Education & Identity
• Female Empowerment, Voice & Representation
• Music, Punk, Hip-Hop & Football
• Continuing Practice, Activism & New Directions

Huge thanks to Jim, Denys Tychkov for filming and editing, the ATAI Committee, all our members, guests and contributors, and to The Model, Sligo for being so welcoming.

The full interview will also be deposited with NIVAL — the National Irish Visual Arts Library as an extended archival interview.

Please have a look and share if you can!

ÁINE, Goddess of the Tuatha De Danann. 1975.
I got a serious complaint the other day from an irate Irish goddess about the lack of their presence on my pages these past months… time to put my house in order.

This pen and ink drawing of ÁINE is one of my very first mythological goddess works, leaning into the rich vein of the female role in Irish folktales, myth and legend for the first time, for me, in a more serious manner.
Before this series I was transfixed by wild, innovative psychedelic art for years and loved every minute of it and it led me back to Irish mythology and the role of the Divine Feminine in the lives of my ancestors.

This work, along with the more familiar painting of the goddess Ériu, was for a groundbreaking series of posters for the very prestigious London publishing house, Motif Editions, who were a major player on the UK poster scene in the early 1970s.
They had the likes of David Hockney, Escher, Allan Jones, Alan Aldridge, Michael English and others of that weight on their roster so I was in good company -and it gave my Celtic mythological artwork a huge recognition boost in the UK before the days of Lizzy album covers and the Book of Conquests.

PS. Not everyone back then was happy with the light nudity but it had serious repercussions.
I even lost a babysitter when a ‘religious’ local told her mother I was not fit to even be a father when the Sunday Independent showed the art and gave it a very favourable mention.
Very little has changed.
Most social media platforms censor any nude in art but are quite happy with vicious racism, breathtaking misogyny and extreme violence. #Celtic #Irish #goddess #fertility #mythology #legend #myth #folklore #celticart #poster #1970s #motifeditions #female #nudity #beauty #art #censorship by @jimfitzpatrick

AMACH ARTIST SERIES — JIM FITZPATRICK

We recently spent a morning with Jim Fitzpatrick at his home studio.

We went to talk about art. We left with stories from a life that could fill a film.

Art. Politics. Music. Ireland.
The people he knew. The places he went.
The work that travelled around the world.

Jim is still creating. Still questioning. Still completely immersed in art.

Tonight, a first glimpse of our conversation.

The AMACH Artist Series returns this week.

Jim also becomes part of the story of our forthcoming collection:

BY ANY MEANS

A charitable collaboration between Jim Fitzpatrick × AMACH will follow.

BY ANY MEANS — COMING SOON.

This hand-drawn sketch was created by the phenomenally talented artist @jimfitzpatrick. Among Jim's many, many, legacies is the drawing of Che Guevara that adorns many a gap-year t-shirt. Jim has gifted that image to the world, free of copyright. Che's tee is ubiquitous because Jim is generous.

This sketch was created as album artwork for Irish rock band Thin Lizzy's album, Black Rose. It is on display in V&A East Museum's The Music is Black: A British Story exhibition.

Phil Lynott's band would always feature in this exhibition - but not for reasons assumed. It isn't simply because Phil was of dual racial heritage. Phil was born in England. In West Bromwich. His mother Philomena was propelled across the Irish Sea by the winds of social damnation: the stigma of being a pregnant (and later) unmarried mother, forced to give birth far from home.

Phil would grow up in her country, the Republic of Ireland and later form #ThinLizzy, a band that sonically obliterated perceptions of where rock can emanate from, be fronted by & what its lyrical wealth can impart. Phil's lyrics juggled acute perceptiveness, pathos, emotional articulation & witty turns of phrase.

Phil fully identified as an Irishman. Make no mistake. He 'qualifies' for inclusion in The Music is Black: A British Story because of the nationalistic classification of the exhibition's subtitle. While Phil was born in England & raised in the Rep. Of Ireland his (and by extension his mother's) story is also reflective of hundreds in the exhibition: of identities decreed set by politics, gender, sexuality, social stigmas & nationalities autonomously prized because of the malleable nature of life's journeys.

This sketch is also a story of creative collaboration. Jim consulted Phil on his efforts to build the depth & delicacy of the rose as inspired by Irish rebel prose. Phil recommended the coloured droplets of blood in tribute to the revoluntionaries who died in pursuit of Irish independence. #PhilLynott was anti-colonial. He was a British-born Irishman who changed the trajectory of #rock music in the 1970s. Generous to a fault, Jim has donated this sketch to the V&A's permanent collection. by @jimfitzpatrick

Oh, Happy Days…
Celebrating her birthday with my beautiful friend Judy Jude in Mamo, Howth, and such amazing food. What is ridiculous is that now Judy, a hugely successful media tekkie, takes me out for dinners and lunches, with great food and such great company.
Back in the day I was the one taking her out with me to gigs and stuff now it is role reversal.
Jude is married, has her own family now, two beautiful little ones, and lives in Malta but we still manage to catch up a few times every year.
Back in the day Judy spent so much time with me in my studio while I worked, always devouring my studio library and her own books.
Jude inspired some unusual drawings too, my fav being the dark sanguine of her reading, all came out of nothing but her calm presence certainly left a good mark on me and I had to record it for fun.
Warm, witty, mischievious, gregarious, vibrant and inspiring, Judy just warms a room with her beautiful laughing good humour and I loved the time we spent together years ago and miss it but life moves on. Some friendships last forever, some fade away but Judy is a constant friend and a great person to spend time with -and I do get to be treated like a prince by her and I love it.
I have created some cool, kind of casual, natural works of art from our long friendship.
This will give you some idea.
More to come. #art #drawing #portrait #reading #sanguine #beauty #inspiration #Howth #Dublin #Ireland #jimfitzpatrick #artist. PS. I just noticed this post is labeled 'AI Content'. There is absolutely zero AI involved here ? What's going on ? Anyone know why? No point in trying to change this, too much hassle. Apologies. No #AIcontent. by @jimfitzpatrick
