Three months of pretty much non-stop drawing went into this — cartoons for @unite4workerseconomy newspaper, the Cable Street beer label, illustrations for articles, the amazing Cable Street 1936–2026 book edited by @michaelad_unite design @officeofcraig , and the stained-glass window I made with @keiramcleanglass for St George in the East. There was also a flyer about Father John Groser massive thanks to @kkennedyryan for his skills, a canvas for the Workers’ Economy gig with @sportsbanger, and a lot of running around making things happen! A very special weekend, surrounded by brilliant comrades and artists — and in the book distributed by @roughtradebooks which I cartooned an art hero of mine @jimfitzpatrick article by @mccord_rhona 90 years on, the fight against hate and division continues. They shall not pass. ✊

JIM FITZPATRICK — IDENTITY, CREATIVITY & EDUCATION A little something from Saturday’s ATAI National Conference 2026 at The Model, Sligo. This was my first National Conference as ATAI President, which I had the privilege of opening and coordinating alongside our brilliant Committee, and I’m really pleased to finally share the edited film of my conversation with Jim Fitzpatrick. Rather than the usual questions about Jim’s career, I used objects, primary sources and cultural references from my own practice as prompts for memories, stories and connections. The 90-minute conversation has been edited around four strands: • Education & Identity • Female Empowerment, Voice & Representation • Music, Punk, Hip-Hop & Football • Continuing Practice, Activism & New Directions Huge thanks to Jim, Denys Tychkov for filming and editing, the ATAI Committee, all our members, guests and contributors, and to The Model, Sligo for being so welcoming. The full interview will also be deposited with NIVAL — the National Irish Visual Arts Library as an extended archival interview. Please have a look and share if you can! #JimFitzpatrick #ATAI #ArtEducation #IrishArt #NIVAL
