POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
This was my biggest takeaway after Week 1 of Miami Hurricanes fall camp…

It wasn’t one player.

It wasn’t one position group.

It wasn’t a five-star freshman.

It was the culture.

When you hear Mario Cristobal speak… then hear the veterans… then hear the younger players… they all sound the same. Accountability. Competition. Leadership. Development.

That’s not by accident.

That’s what a championship program starts to sound like.

I’m not saying Miami is all the way back to the glory days.

I’m saying it looks like they’re building something that feels very familiar to those of us who know what greatness at The U looks like.

What do you think? Am I buying in too early… or are you seeing it too?

👇 Let me know.

25 years later, I still think about this every single September.

The day before 9/11, I found out I was going to be a father for the first time.

Twenty-four hours later, the world changed.

I was hosting four hours of sports radio a day in Phoenix.

That week, none of it was about sports anymore. We opened the phones and people just… talked. Grieved. Cried. Tried to make sense of something none of us understood.

I learned something that week I’ve never forgotten: sometimes the microphone isn’t there for sports.
Sometimes it’s there to serve people.

Today I’m thinking about my own kids, about that week, about all of you who’ve been with me on this journey.

Never forget. United we stand. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 PAT TILLMAN. I’LL NEVER FORGET THIS.

In the aftermath of 9/11, I was doing my sports talk show every day in Phoenix.

Our reporter Gene Aguirre was in the Cardinals locker room when Pat Tillman started talking — about what had just happened to our country, about his family’s history of military service.

Then Pat said something that’s stayed with me for 25 years:

“I really haven’t done a damn thing, as far as laying myself on the line like that.”

We played that audio on the show. I still remember the goosebumps.

None of us could have known what Pat would eventually do. Months later, he and his brother Kevin walked away from the lives they knew and enlisted in the U.S. Army. Pat served with the 75th Ranger Regiment.

This is personal for another reason too — I got to cover Pat. I got to know him.

Intelligent. Intense. Unapologetically himself.

He believed something. And then he lived it.

That’s what hits me every time I look at this picture of me at his statue, all these years later.

I’ve covered a lot of unforgettable moments in 25+ years in this business. That one never left me.

Pat Tillman was proof that words mean very little unless you’re willing to live by them.

Today, on 9/11, I remember Pat. I remember everyone who served. I remember everyone we lost.

Thank you, Pat. God bless you and your family.

🇺🇸 Never Forget.

🇺🇸 25 YEARS LATER. NEVER FORGET.

I'll never forget September 11, 2001. The horror of that day — but also what happened afterward.

We came together. We weren't all the same. We didn't agree on everything. But for a moment, before race, religion, politics and all the labels we put on each other…

We were Americans.

For me, this day will always be deeply personal. The day before, I found out I was going to be a father for the first time. Twenty-four hours later, the world changed.

I was hosting a sports talk show in Phoenix at the time. That morning, it stopped being a sports show — and for the rest of that week, it never really became one again. We opened the phones. Angry people. Scared people. Heartbroken people. People trying to understand something none of us could understand. We played "Bittersweet Symphony" coming out of every break.

A sports radio show became something else. A place to grieve, to vent, to feel like you weren’t alone.

I’ve felt that kind of connection through a microphone only a handful of times since — including broadcasting through hurricanes in Florida, when people without power or water called in because the radio was their lifeline.

A microphone can be about a hell of a lot more than sports.

Twenty-five years later — life is precious, time is precious, and we belong to each other more than we sometimes remember.

Today I remember the people who never came home. Their families. The first responders who ran toward what everyone else ran from. And what this country looked like when we stood together.

Never forget. 🇺🇸

God bless you, and God bless America.

Championships can turn on one play.

A blocked punt.

A return.

A kick.

A mistake.

Miami learned that the hard way.

That’s why Alex & Gries love hearing how aggressively Mario Cristobal has been attacking special-teams situations throughout practice.

Offense matters.

Defense matters.

But if Miami wants to finish the job, special teams has to be championship-level too.

👇 How confident are you in Miami’s special teams this season?

I’m having a blast hosting the Dolphins Squad Show with Kyle Crabbs of Locked On Dolphins and former Miami Dolphin Jeff “Z” Zgonina. 🐬🎙️

In last night’s preseason opener at Washington, the Dolphins’ first-team offense came out and made a statement.

14 plays.
93 yards.
More than 7 minutes off the clock.
Touchdown.

Malik Willis looked sharp. De’Von Achane ran hard. Caleb Douglas and Malik Washington flashed. And that starting offensive line? Moving people.

Kyle brings the daily Dolphins insider perspective, Z brings the former-player perspective, and I get to steer the ship and bring it all together.

This is the Dolphins Squad Show. 🔥🐬

Special thank you to my friends and partners at Elite Power of Peptide for helping me be my best at all times through this crazy journey I call my life!

The great Miami teams always had hungry dogs waiting behind the starters.

That’s what real depth looks like.

You might be No. 1 today…

But somebody talented is right behind you trying to take that job tomorrow.

Miami’s running back and wide receiver rooms are starting to have that kind of competition again.

And THAT is what gets Alex & Gries excited about this roster.

Talent matters.

But talented depth creates pressure.

Pressure creates development.

And development creates championship teams.

should be Miami’s next Athletic Director?

Alex Donno and Jim “GRIES” Grieshaber believe Jim Frevola deserves serious consideration.

I’ve known Jim for years, and I can tell you this…

He’s one of the best relationship-builders and sales professionals I’ve ever been around.

He’s a proud Miami alumnus.

He understands The U.

And nobody loves the University of Miami more than Jim Frevola.

Would he be the right person to lead Hurricanes Athletics into its next chapter?

👇 What do you think?

Who’s better? I’m waiting.

Who’s better than Mario Cristobal right now at recruiting, dominating the transfer portal, and building a championship culture?

Go ahead…

Name him.

I’ve been critical of Mario when I thought it was warranted. But give credit where it’s due. What he’s building at Miami is different.

The talent is rising.

The culture is changing.

The accountability is showing up in every player interview.

Miami isn’t finished yet…

But this program is headed in the right direction.

👇 Who would you put ahead of Mario Cristobal right now?

April —> May —> June —> July

Absolutely amazing who and what we can become once we make the decision, solidify it with commitment, and work toward it every day with focus and discipline.

I just finished my second week of my brand new program, 105 ALIVE: 105 Days to My Highest Self.

It’s all about elevating every day in every way. It will be a book, a cookbook, and a comprehensive guide to reclaiming the best version of YOU, and it will be released as soon as I finish in October.

Life is way too beautiful- and way too short- to give up on ourselves. I haven’t even hit the weights yet. This is just from walking a few miles every day. Several different workouts will be incorporated and phased in as I go.

I’m on all the right supplements, all the right peptides, and I’m eating cleaner than I’ve ever eaten in my life.

I’m on my way to my highest self, and I’m just getting started!

Who’s with me?

Thank you Nicole and #EPOP for supporting me on my journey, and for pouring the gasoline on my fire 🔥

Thank you to my kids and my Grandson for being my WHY, to all my great friends for the love and support, and Almighty God for taking the wheel away from me before I crashed and burned for good. taken in Chandler, Arizona by @jimgries_

Padres Miss Their Chances Against Dodgers, Drop Another Series to 2x Defending World Champs.

If you didn’t know, I’m the host of Padres Postcast on the Locked On Podcast Network.

The Padres had every opportunity to win this series.

Michael King cruised through four innings before everything unraveled in the fifth. Manny Machado continued to swing a hot bat with another homer, the bullpen gave San Diego a chance, but the offense couldn’t cash in when it mattered most.

San Diego actually outhit the Dodgers 6-5, but finished just 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position, stranded eight runners, and couldn’t capitalize after putting the tying runs on base late.

Another series against L.A…
Another opportunity missed.#

Check me out after every Padres game on YouTube, also wherever you download your podcasts and on Roku.

I also host the Miami Dolphins Squad Show 2x a week all year long, as well as the Miami Hurricanes postcast during the season and I’m a regular contributor to Locked on Canes.

Also check out my face! Weird to say it that way, right? But there are no words to describe how ecstatic I am about discovering GHK-Cu- the copper peptide! It is literally taking years off of my appearance, taking the edge off the wrinkles and making my skin smooth like a baby’s.

Thank you to my good friends at @elitepowerofpeptide for helping this old (ish) man feel so young again!

Keep following me to find out how I’m turning back the clock in every way through this incredible partnership!! taken in San Diego, California by @jimgries_
