WST prep done, hottest lifts below.
Been a decent prep, PBs on all of these lifts, getting heavier defs makes me stronger which is lovely. But more importantly body’s pretty injury free 👍

Worlds strongest Tasmanian prep so far. Body’s feeling good, leg power still down a bit after a quad strain but coming back quickly. Waking at about 95kg atm.

Moved back to Tassie over the weekend and settled into the new gym @thestrengthden_burnie . Plenty of room for activities. Been a busy week but trainings going pretty decent. 4 weeks until the big dance in Tawoomba, time to get it dialed

Better late than never.

NSW event 4 -max Saxon bar DL - 85kg - 1st 🥇 no vid
By far my best event of the day. Beat all the 80s, 90s and 105s, was a good time. Put me one point up going into the stones.

Event 5 stone for reps - 130kg - 7 reps - =1st 🥇
Needed 7 to match Muzz for the overall win which I did. Stone prep wasn’t the best but good enough.

Event 3 - 230kg DL for reps - 9 reps - 3rd place 🥉

Not a bad result here. 9 reps is decent but up against two tank deadlifters only good enough for third.

Put me a few points behind here, and was a bit bummed to be honest but I got over it lol

NSW strongest 2024
Event 2 - 95kg log for reps - 4 reps - 3rd place 🥉
Had a bit of a stinker here. Hit 6 in training so was hoping for 6-7 on the day. Decided to switch to a push jerk for this event. Good in theory but ran out of talent after 3 reps, next hit my head then lost one behind me. Managed to push press the last rep, legs were lacking the pop I think, bigger water cut might have hurt me, who knows.

Shout out to @strongmanbunyip80kg for hitting 8 reps, smoking us all and winning the special trophy for best log performance on the day as well, if your going to get beaten, that’s what you want to get beaten by.

Event 1 - 60/60/300 keg yoke medley. 1st place 🥇
Knew I’d need to take this one out to be a chance for the win and thankfully was able to do so, always been fast loading but yoke has improved this year to actually a decent event for me. Good way to start.

NSW Strongest 2024 in the bag. Good weekend for the Pokes, both up on the podium. Two podiums for Eric, NSW strongest baby right there. Had a great time away in Newcastle staying with Jess and Nick and going to the comp. Was a well run affair in a super cool location. Likely our last NSW strongest, will certainly miss all the strongman community here that Fran and I have developed as athletes amongst, there a good bunch. I’ll post vids and comp recap soon.
