Stephen Slater Model @skippyslater Up for grabs on Facebook Marketplace, Vista Ca. In the late 90’s, Stephen (Skippy) was everywhere in surfing: movies, magazines, and contest podiums. A natural result was a signature model from Uncle Donald. First appearing around 1999, this 2 plus one performance noserider looks quite similar to others in DT’s lineup, but Donald called the Stephen Slater Model his “Most Wanted”. 🤩

The Slater Model is still produced today with OG Laminate by @lurker77 at 🌺 Hawaiian Pro Designs 🌺 Australia. That means that this model has been in production for 27 years. This could be a record for a Takayama Pro Model.

The Josh Baxter Model. Josh “Aced” the cover of Longboard Magazine for the June/July 1994 issue (volume 2/number 1). A well deserved and iconic photo at what appears to be Makaha. It’s difficult to see if he’s riding a DT or to know if he was on the HPD Team at that moment in time, but he was shortly after and earned his own Model.

The Josh Baxter Model laminate replicated his LB Magazine cover shot, and although a short lived model (he left HPD soon after), it became the inspiration for The Noah Ka Oi Comp Model a handful of years later. Baxters are very hard to find, but if you want to ride like “The Ace”, go grab yourself a Noah Comp from Noah @surfboardsbydonaldtakayama 🤙🏽
