I’ve shared a lot about business, ADHD, growth and the person I’m becoming.
But this is one of the more personal parts of my story.

Being adopted has shaped the way I look at identity, belonging and family.

It taught me that you can feel deeply loved and still have questions.
That gratitude and complexity can exist at the same time.
And most of all, that you don’t have to share the same blood to become family.

My parents chose to welcome me into their lives.
They chose to raise me.
They chose to love me.

And I’ll always be grateful for that.

There are parts of my adoption story I’m not ready to share publicly yet, and maybe one day I will.

For now, I mostly want this post to open a door.

I started my life in an incubator.
No name. No guarantee I'd make it.

But I did.

If God wanted me gone, I wouldn't be here. I'm still here. That means there's a plan.

For most of my life I felt stuck between two worlds.

Too Dutch for some rooms. Not Dutch enough for others. Accepted everywhere, but there was always a line.

Then I walked into a room where none of that mattered.
I wasn't "the adopted kid" or "the Black guy who acts Dutch."
I was just Jim.

My partner Kim told me this week: most people are still sleeping on AI.
She's right. So I stopped sleeping. 👀

I got my own AI personal assistant. She helps me plan, keeps me accountable and reminds me why I started in the first place.

Part 2 of my adoption story. 🤍

These are things I’ve heard more times than I can count. About my parents. About my sisters. About where I’m “really” from.

I’m not sharing this to call anyone out. Most questions come from curiosity. I just want to show what it’s like on the other side of the question.

Because family was never about blood. It’s about who stays.

Save this if you’ve ever felt like you had to figure it all out alone.

My name is jim. raised dutch, look angolan. adopted. living with adhd. building an online business.

for the first two months of my life, i didn’t have a name. a doctor gave me the name jim.

for a long time i believed one thing: i should be able to figure this out myself.

so i did everything myself. ideas at 2am. saying yes to everything. building a business, a team and content all at once. my adhd brain loved it. all or nothing.

but doing it all alone has a cost. i asked for help too late. i took on too much. i played the mentor when i still needed to be the student.

so now i’m practicing the opposite. asking for help earlier. listening more. building with my brain instead of fighting it.

here i share what that actually looks like. adoption, adhd, business, faith. the real version, not the highlight reel.

i don’t have it all figured out. but i hope this page makes you feel a little less alone.

Sometimes the answer isn’t a detailed plan.
Sometimes it’s simply: don’t be afraid.

I don’t know what the future holds.
I don’t know exactly how everything will work out.
But I know I don’t want fear making my decisions for me.

So I’ll keep walking.
Keep building.
Keep trusting.
Keep going.

You recommend the restaurant.
You share the Netflix series.
You tell your friends about the hotel, the app, the product, the place, the drink even the job and the school.

Nobody calls you pushy. Nobody calls it weird.
But the moment you recommend an opportunity that could actually change someone’s income, suddenly it’s different.

Maybe Network Marketing isn’t as strange as people think.

Maybe we’ve all been doing it our whole lives... some people just decided to get paid for it.
