POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
We weren’t going to acknowledge this date.

3 years ago today, Australia voted No 🖤💛💔

We acutely remember how much that hurt. Not just the result, but the racism, the misinformation and the absolute bullshit that came with it. And how quickly so many people seemed happy to move on.

But... as the late great Professor Peter Buckskin AM PSM FACE used to say on the regular, “Don’t let the bastards get you down.”

The referendum was lost. That’s a fact. But the issues we were trying to address didn’t magically disappear on 14 October 2023.

What has been shown here in SA that a Voice to Parliament is a good thing. Our people have a direct say to Parliament and government on the issues that affect us. And last time I checked, the sky hasn’t fallen in.

Is it perfect? No. Is there more work to do? Absolutely. But those hardworking, staunch community advocates are doing it.

We're not prepared to lower our expectations of what this country can and should be.

Our people still deserve a genuine say. We still need Treaty. And we absolutely need Truth.

Voice. Treaty. Truth.

Not giving up on any of them. by @jindawayni

Flashback to last week, when we officially launched @austandpoint! 📸

The photos are in and they’re too bloody good not to share.

A room full of good people, great conversations, a few laughs and a whole lot of excitement about what’s ahead.

Still feeling pretty chuffed by the number of people who came out to celebrate with us.

And if we’re being honest, we scrubbed up alright too. 🔥

Here’s a little look back at a pretty speccy night.

Next week we'll be sharing our new website. In the meantime, reach out if there's anything you need a hand with!

“If you’d told me Jindawayni would enter into a strategic partnership with another consultancy, I probably would have vomited.”

Look, it’s an unconventional way to start a speech announcing your new partner to the world buuuuttt, it’s real.

And that’s exactly how we operate.

Jindawayni and Standpoint are two separate businesses, with different strengths, different perspectives and a lot of shared values. We’ll work together where it makes sense, challenge each other when we need to, and bring the right people around the table to get the best outcomes for our clients.

Last night we got to celebrate @austandpoint officially launching into the world, and we’re bloody proud to be standing alongside them.

This one is different. In a very good way.

Stay tuned for more.

Huge congratulations to the Standpoint team, and thank you to Deputy Premier @kyam.maher for doing the honours.

Bigger thanks to @kingkingcreative and @jesswalker.mua for getting our Big Boss Lady on point - 5 stars, no comments 👌🏽 by @jindawayni

Well, we’re officially launched. 🥂

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate the launch of Standpoint Consulting with us. It was pretty special to have so many friends, colleagues, clients and supporters in the room.

A particular thank you to Deputy Premier @kyam.maher for officially launching @austandpoint and helping us kick things off properly.

We’re incredibly proud of what we’re building, and especially proud to be working side by side with @jindawayni

Two independent consultancies, bringing different strengths and perspectives, backing each other and doing good work together.

Thanks as well to the brilliant team at @galleryadelaide for looking after us and making the night such a good one.

Our website will be live next week, and there’s plenty more to come.

For now, thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate the beginning of Standpoint ❤️ by @jindawayni

I don’t think I have ever agreed with @jacintanampijinpa.

Today I do, and that should tell you just how revolting @senatorpaulinehanson continues to be.

I have said that Price’s claim that colonisation had no ongoing negative impacts on Aboriginal people was absolute rot. I meant it. But when she says Hanson’s comments are appalling, she is 100% correct.

About a year ago, Hanson asked what Aboriginal people had done in this country for “supposedly 60,000 years”. She said we had not invented the wheel, dismissed our history as “a few rock paintings”, called us “the most primitive race on Earth” and said we had achieved nothing.

What utter horseshit.

When the comments resurfaced, Pauline could have apologised or admitted they were ignorant. Instead, she reposted the footage and complained that the media was in a “tailspin”.

Reposting racism does not make it old news. It reaffirms that it remains your position today.

Hanson also repeated a claim that schools were “not teaching Australian history about civil rights” because they were teaching Aboriginal culture and language.

What is MORE Australian than learning about Aboriginal culture? What is MORE central to civil rights than learning about the awful things our people have suffered and risen up against?

Our people fought against laws controlling where we could live, whom we could marry and whether we could keep our children. We fought for our wages, lands, languages and recognition under Australian law.

That IS Australian history. It IS civil rights.

Hanson has spent thirty years doing this. In 1996, Australia was being “swamped by Asians”. Later, the target was Muslims. Now she is telling Australians that Aboriginal people are primitive.

The targets change, but the method never does. by @jindawayni

Last stop, Larrakia Country. 🖤💛❤️

After tens of thousands of kilometres, countless conversations and yarning sessions across the country, @jindawayni is wrapping up our face-to-face engagement in Darwin.

We’re here as part of the Tax Ombudsman's review into the ATO’s engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This work has taken us from cities to regional towns and remote communities, listening to people about what works, what doesn’t, and what needs to change when it comes to dealing with the tax and super systems.

If you’re in Darwin, come along and have a yarn with us. The ATO won’t be in the room. We’re independent, we’re here to listen, and what you tell us will help shape the recommendations that come out of this review.

Tuesday 25 August at 9am
@ntibn 116-120 Coonawarra Rd, Winnellie

Register at @eventbrite link in our bio.

Can’t make it? You can still have your say through the national survey - also link in bio!

One last stop. Let’s make it count 💪🏽 by @jindawayni

The wonderful Amy Bodossian is one of a kind! Brutally honest, open, candid and talented. She’s a fierce advocate for OCD and mines her own experience for her work and love of performing. She’s no stranger to the ups and downs of life as an artist and makes no apologies for being her authentic self - both on and off the stage. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Amy talk about her work and share her stories and songs. On the Couch with Beck Lister, Sunday September 6th, Northcote Town Hall. 4pm.
