What an unforgettable weekend in North Carolina at the 2026 IBJJF Charlotte Fall Kids Open! ❤️🔥

We couldn’t be prouder of our Kids Team!
Seven kids made the trip this weekend with their families, stepped onto the mats, and represented our team with so much heart! Coming home with 6 gold medals and 1 silver is an incredible accomplishment for them, but what makes us most proud goes far beyond the medals.

It’s watching these kids work hard, challenge themselves, support one another, and continue to grow every time they step on the mats.

Jay, Luke, Laith, Ava, Adelia, Andre, and Zane — you make us SO proud, and we’re so lucky to be part of your journey! Keep showing up, keep working hard, and keep being you. We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next! 💪👏

Congratulations, team! You earned it! ❤️❤️

Big shoutout to all our students who hit the mats Saturday at the @IBJJFCharlotteFallOpen! Nothing better than watching our team step up, put in the work, and leave it all out there. The hard work, the nerves, the battles, the growth — THAT’S what it’s all about! 👊

Proud of this crew and everyone who made the trip to NC to support the team! Now back to the mats tomorrow!

Growth doesn’t happen when everything feels easy. It happens when you push past the moments that challenge you, stay in the round when you want to quit, and KEEP SHOWING UP when you’re not sure you can.

On the mats, being uncomfortable is part of the process. Every tough round, every mistake, and every day you choose to show up is making you better!!

Get comfortable being uncomfortable. That’s where growth begins. 💪💪

Ready to get uncomfortable and see what you’re capable of? Come train with us! Go online to JitsuAcademySC.com for our complete class schedule and sign in for a FREE trial!

Success in jiu jitsu isn’t built on the days you feel motivated.
It’s built on the days you don’t.

Discipline keeps you on the mats, consistency keeps you improving, and time turns those small efforts into something great. You don’t have to be the best every day — you just have to keep showing up! 💪🔥

Today was a special day @jitsuacademysc !!

Congratulations to everyone who tested and earned their blue belts today!! 💙🥋

We know how much it took to get here: countless hours on the mats, hard rounds, slow days, and the determination to keep showing up.

Going from white belt to blue belt is about more than changing the color of your belt. It reflects the discipline you’ve built, the challenges you’ve overcome, and the confidence you’ve gained along the way.

We’ve watched you grow, not just as Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, but as people and teammates. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves. We certainly are!!

You earned every bit of this. Congratulations, blue belts. 💙

🥋 Your Progress - Your Pace 💪
There will always be days when you feel like everyone around you is progressing faster.

That’s where trust comes in.

Trust yourself. Trust the work you’ve put in. Trust your training. And trust that your coaches see things in you that you may not yet see in yourself yet.

Your journey is YOUR JOURNEY. Don’t compare yourself to the teammate beside you!!. Don’t measure your progress against someone else’s timeline.
The only person you need to compare yourself to is who you were yesterday.

So keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep growing.
When your coaches believe you’re ready for the next step, believe in them, but most importantly, believe in yourself!!!🥋💪

Trust the process. Your time will come.

About Braelyn:
Braelyn was the three-year-old daughter of our student, Don Culp, and she was a true superhero. She embodied joy, determination, and a never-quit attitude. Sadly, on October 2, 2012, Braelyn was called home to be with the Lord, just three months shy of her fourth birthday.

The Braelyn Aubrey Foundation was created in her memory to ensure that her spirit continues to live on and that other young children with disabilities have access to inclusive play opportunities.

Braelyn’s father is leading efforts to secure foundation funding for the design and construction of a truly state-of-the-art inclusive playground in the Lexington, SC, area. This playground will serve children of all abilities, providing a place where children with and without disabilities can play together.

🥋 Train together. Grow together. ❤️

There’s something truly special about families who choose to train Jiu Jitsu together.
It’s more than learning techniques and getting better on the mats. It’s the shared experiences, the shared challenges, and the shared victories.
It’s pushing through the tough rounds together, encouraging each other when things get difficult, and having those experiences become stories you can talk about long after class is over!

We’re proud to be a family friendly gym where parents, kids, siblings, and families can all be part of the same journey. ❤️
Because sometimes the best way to strengthen a family is to struggle, laugh, learn, and grow together.

🥋 Come train with us. Build something together.
