✨ Halloween magic 🪄 by @jjuliaa

Winter is a time for two of my favorites : beets & citrus, so here’s a little throwback to my contribution to the menu at Bad Hunter. Smoky beets, grilled octopus, blood orange, gochujang, and fennel with lotus root, crispy black lentil, & bonito. 📸: @beltzerseltzer by @jjuliaa

Can’t wait to bring this bite of summer to @greencitymarket tomorrow! Smoked lake trout, crispy skin, fermenty fresno, @mickklugfarm corn & tomato bite I created just for the Chef BBQ! Plus a few marigold petals from my garden for the ‘gram. Currently lying on the floor, with the lingering aroma of mesquite, getting some good stretches in after busting my ass processing all those fishes but it’s definitely worth it 😘 Come see me and our stellar @splitrailchicago squad-you won’t want to miss it. by @jjuliaa

If there’s one thing I love this time of year, it’s cooking outside & I can’t wait to bring @splitrailchicago to the @greencitymarket BBQ next week! We’ll be serving up one of my favorite things to eat in the late days of summer: smoked lake trout with local corn & tomato. It brings me back to summers at the Farm and I can’t wait to share a bite with you! Link in bio - get your ticket 🎟️ before they sell out ❤️ by @jjuliaa

Got to sneak away for Andrea’s wedding at the Farm. Cousins in the kitchen, arranging wildflower bouquets, barn bridal suite, and some quality time with my family, the stars, and my favorite forest. There’s magic in the air ✨no other place hits quite like it ♥️ by @jjuliaa

Got to teach CDC @jjuliaa how to make gnocchi today- it was pretty awesome! Get ready because @foodandwine will be featuring my recipe for Loaded Baked Potato Gnocchi, so we’re bringing it back for a while! Catch us at @splitrailchicago starting at 5 tonight! by @jjuliaa

So enjoyed a weekend away to celebrate love with family ❤️ by @jjuliaa

Beyond honored that @splitrailchicago is nominated for best overall restaurant, best chef @zoeschor and best fried chicken in @chicago_reader

We’d love for you to vote for us (as well as @dorothydownstairs and @themartinchicago too!) and time is almost up - voting ends at noon central time February 15! Link in bio!

I am so grateful to be part of the team at 2500 w Chicago - all of y’all are incredible and being surrounded by such kind, talented, creative humans is the best.

Thank you all for crushing it, keeping it fun, and caring so damn much ♥️ swipe for a few of my favorite moments (it was hard to narrow it down)

Listening to leaves and staring into dahlias 🍃 Happy equinox ☀️ ♎️ by @jjuliaa

When you come across some special ingredients, it only makes sense to run a special dish. I discovered some huitlacoche shucking corn, and sautéed it along with some beautiful grey shallots from our friends at @froggymeadow and some Calabrian chile to top these @ansonmills Carolina Gold corn and rice fritters, made with the aromatic rice and rice powder, and served with a smoky blue creme fraiche. 📸: Chef @zoeschor & ➡️to see what the huitlacoche looked like when I found it! by @jjuliaa

Don’t worry y’all, @dorothydownstairs will be back soon too ♥️ In the meantime, head over to @splitrailchicago & @themartinchicago for more on our big news! I can’t wait to cook you dinner and to cheers 🥂 to real plates. Come see us at the carry out window this weekend for your last chance to get our current Split-Rail menu! Things are gonna be a whole lot different in a few weeks when we reopen 😉 but we’ll be dishing out all the fried chicken, burgers & @beyond_burger , biscuits with chile maple butter, vegan tenders, tots, and more all weekend long. & don’t forget about those 🥯 bagel sammies by @jjuliaa
