Sometimes the best builds aren’t the ones you expect.

Caught up with Joey and his rare Volvo V70 R finished in one of the most sought-after specs, complete with Atacama interior… but what stole the show was what was following behind it.

Not just a trailer — a half-cut V70R camper build made from the rear section of another Volvo V70 R, reimagined into a rolling family camp rig.

And the details are what make it special:
The windows still work.
The sunroof still works.
The rear doors still function.
Even the old fuel filler has been repurposed with a NOCO plug-in since the gas tank is long gone.

Still a work in progress, but already packed with ingenuity — picnic setup, room for the family and pups, and plans for a rooftop tent to push it even further into micro-overland territory.

This is the kind of oddball engineering that makes car culture fun… part preservation, part fabrication, part adventure rig.

A rare R wagon towing half of itself as a camper? That’s the kind of thing you don’t forget by @jl_deviants

Finally finished the main campaign on Ace and finally got through the DLC special missions. Still haven’t unlocked everything yet for achievements and unlocks, like for example, needing to get through campaign in under 4 hours and such…but, can’t wait to get my copy of 8 still…..
