"Don't forget where you came from" are words my grandmother said to me repeatedly once we began this journey of reaching out for support. And while this visit home has been an absolute joy and comfort... I've come to realise that this time here has been less about me reconnecting with people and more about people feeling reconnected with me.

I love that the essence of these captured moments is not about me being at the front and center. It is the reminder and the reality I would be absolutely nowhere today if it weren't for God and His people.

To look around a room and see 300 people? Showed up... for me? How does one even begin to say thank you for that?

Even though I did not get to take photos and properly catch up with each and everyone of you, rest assured that I stood at the front of that cinema, looked around and came literally face to face with my blessings.

There is no doubt in my mind that I am walking, living and thriving in my purpose.

Not too long ago, most of the people in these photos were complete strangers. Now, they're surprising me with a birthday picnic to celebrate 26.

It's funny how life works that way. The people you least expect can become the ones who bring so much joy, love, authenticity, and positive energy into your life. Feeling incredibly grateful for the friendships that have shaped this season and for a reminder that I am deeply loved.

The race was never about getting it done quickly but learning to endure to the end. I am already 10 months into my Master’s journey and just reflecting (as I always am) on where I was last year.. not knowing if and how I'd even make it.

But here I am, here we are, by the grace of God.

As I prepare to enter my second year of graduate studies (WOW), I’m still trusting God through every step of the journey. And I've said it before and will say it again, I couldn't have been here today without all of you.

In that moment, I knew this was going to be my last time getting to soak in the sun, sea and sand for a while. I am almost always in pursuit of the in-between, the finding meaning in everything. Life is poetry.

I did not realise that I never shared these. July 2025, 2 weeks before I hopped on the plane. I always made it my mission to visit Tobago twice a year, June/July and December.

No visit is ever like the other, but they all share my desire for rest. This one was all about the unspoken goodbyes. The uncontrollable laughter. The parts that make you go.. you just had to be there. What a time. It wasn't perfect but it was exactly what it needed to be and that makes all the difference.

There really is nothing like home.
