After a year+ of living with oral melanoma -- including surgery and radiation - Belle left us cradled in Milla's hands on Friday. She was around 13 years old (?)

We adopted her in June 2020 from Anarchy Animal Rescue. Originally from the Albany area, she joined our family at a curvy 24.5 pounds and slimmed down to a healthier 18. It's been six amazing years of her shadowing my every move, getting pasta from Zia Silvana at Sunday Suppers, sitting beside her Nonna and watching TV, lovingly assuming the role of Luca and Milla's first companion animal, barking at anyone who had the audacity to be on our street, and greeting Steven when he returned from work.

We love you, Belle! by @jlcohan
