We threw a party to celebrate 10 years! 🎉

Thank you to @gem.nyc for hosting and for everyone who came through to mark the occasion with us. 💛

NYC is where this story all began and so many of our early supporters both chefs and home cooks are here. THANK YOU for believing in better quality spices and for telling all your friends!

Thank you @jlcohan and @abenaanimsomuah for making this party possible, @gem.nyc for the delicious food and @hanisbakerynyc for the cake 🍰

And of course thank you to the B&B team pictured in the last photo! 🥳

📷 big thank you to @maddyfalkowitz_equinephoto for documenting!

Every year, I leave the Summer Fancy Food Show @specialtyfoodassociation with more than just new food discoveries.

I leave with new friendships, meaningful conversations, and inspiration. Hearing the stories behind the brands, the journeys that brought them here, and finally meeting people I’d only known through Instagram @instagram is something I always look forward to.

Meeting Chef Vikas Khanna @vikaskhannagroup , Gulrez and Jyo of Gymkhana Foods @gymkhanafinefoods , along with so many inspiring founders and entrepreneurs, reminded me that no matter how successful someone is, it’s their humility, generosity, and passion that leave the biggest impression.

One of my favorite parts of the show is seeing more and more women entrepreneurs building incredible brands. It makes me so proud to see their ideas, passion, and hard work being celebrated on such a global stage.

That’s the reason I never miss the Summer Fancy Food Show. Great food brings people together, but it’s the stories, the friendships, and the community that keep me coming back.

Until next year ♥️♥️

A little news: I’ve joined @burlapandbarrel ! I’ve been using their spices for years and love being in their orbit. During Covid, I hosted a food trivia live stream with @max.falkowitz and he invited @ethfri to compete. Since then, I’ve watched them on Shark Tank, hit the trade show circuit, collab with my local shops, and create new spice blends with my favorite cookbook authors.

It happened so fast over the past two weeks AND we just wrapped Fancy Food Show. What an introduction to a kind and generous team. I’m working on a part time basis with content and still will be working on cookbooks as well as with Wonderville 😉 Sign up for our newsletter at burlapandbarrel.com

TODAY !!!

Dorothy had to dodge flying monkeys. The least you can do is pull up on a Sunday.

Help us celebrate Black Music History month with Soulfood & Soundtrack Sundays as we head down the Yellow Brick Road with THE WIZ (1978), an evening of Black cinema, comfort food, and the kind of soundtrack that makes you sing even when you swear you don’t know all the words.

Food starts at 4 PM
Film starts at 5 PM
Free admission

📍1456 Woodward Ave, Detroit MI 48226

The menu is giving comfort with a little razzmatazz:

Ease On Down Wings • $15
Sumac Lemon Pepper Wings with House Ranch

Emerald City Black-Eyed Pea Wontons • $12
with Collard Green Chimichurri

Yellow Brick Road Truffle Mac & Cheese • $12
Because regular mac and cheese simply wasn’t dramatic enough.

Auntie Em’s Banana Pudding • $10
Banana Rum-Soaked Pound Cake, Popcorn, and absolutely no explanation required.

Ease on down. Just don’t ease in at 5:30 asking if there’s any mac left.

Presented in partnership with @lowkeycinemadetroit and @cinemalamont , with heartfelt thanks to our sponsors @burlapandbarrel and the United Dairy Industry of Michigan @milkmeansmore for helping us bring a little extra magic to the table.

See y’all somewhere over Detroit. 🖤👠🌻
