We hiked the Grand Canyon in a day, rim to river to rim, on the southern part of the canyon. We lucked out and got perfect weather for the whole day. It wasn't a short day, almost 8 hours moving, covering 17 miles, and 4,800ft of elevation gain. The trip is well worth it if you're up for a challenge. I'm still trying to process how massive the canyon is and all the beauty contained within. taken in South Kaibab Trail by @jmidd413

I had a mountaineering first yesterday. Since I've started climbing, I've been able to successfully summit every peak I've attempted. On our approach to Matterhorn I decided to make the call to turn back. I knew I wasn't mentally prepared or physically prepared enough to take on such a climb. When you're thousands of feet of the ground, the last thing you need is a distracted mind, or a fatigued body. It was a tough call, but I know I made the right choice. The mountain isn't going anywhere, and I'll stand on the summit in the future.

I've got a roof over my head, food in my belly, and wifi. I know that we aren't all fortunate to be stuck inside in a comfortable place. I have friends that don't have access to running water in their homes, let alone a TV. Be grateful for what you do have, and try to make the most of it.

I'm focusing on brighter days and looking forward to when this is all over. I've already booked this climb for August and training has started. The first time I saw #dentdugeant I knew I had to come climb it. It's going to be intense, but I can't wait.

A week ago today, I was standing on the summit of Mount Rainier. I've climbed much higher mountains, but the weather made it a very tough week for me, and the awesome people that I climbed with. I learned so much on this trip, and experienced moments I'll never forget. I love how each mountain, no matter how big or how small, has it's own unique challenges.
