The second painting in my recent series :)

The gallery lighting doesn’t do the painting justice but it lowkey molded in my trunk so this is all I have now 😭

This piece was both fun and horrific to make—The fabric banner was made from a thrifted curtain, a wooden dowel, and probably an hour of hand stitching. I can’t wait to explore more with fabric and unique installations though

This might be my favorite piece from this semester even though it’s not entirely complete. I’m so so proud of the hands 😌

More pieces from my first ceramics class last semester ☕️

Trying to catch up on all the projects I haven’t posted

In order:
Slides 1-3: Wheel thrown mug, stoneware, butter and tenmoku glazes

Slides 4-5: Wheel thrown vessel, stoneware, oribe glaze

Slides 6-7: Piece inspired by Japanese yukimi lanterns, slab built with stoneware clay, this was NOT supposed to be red unfortunately

Slide 8: 16” tall vessel inspired by a Yuan dynasty vase, Coil built with Earthenware clay,
The slip cracked all over the piece and I ACCIDENTALLY GLAZED THIS WITH CONE 6 GLAZE?? so it melted a little and the glaze bubbled, but it somehow survived and I still love her

Slides 9-10: random wheel-thrown cylinders (they’re a little wonky) with various glazes, stoneware

Painting a figure and skin tones was so much harder than I ever imagined. Thank god for free model references 😭
