The Lime is back on November 5th!

Creatives, artists, entrepreneurs. You know the type…building things, chasing ideas, figuring it out as they go. We’re coming together for new connections and a party!

We’re talking about what it means to build your own lane when the world didn’t exactly make one for you.

We’re proud to introduce your host for the night, Jezelle Anim-Addo. BU grad and New England Emmy Winner.

📍- @pianosnyc
📆 - November 5th
⏰ - 6pm
🎟️ - $10.00 (link in bio)

All ticket sales go to our goal of providing 2,000 mental health kits to communities in NYC.

earlier in the month, i DJed and captured some photos for the wonderful students and staff at the Maya Angelou French Immersion School for their HBCU Juneteenth event!🖤🙌🏾

there was nothing but love and laughter in the room the entire evening. so so heartwarming to see just how much the staff care about the students and their future.

thank you so much for having me!!

(happy BELATED Juneteenth! 🌍✊🏾)

About an hour and a half off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia lies a town small in size, but powerful in culture.

San Basillo de Palenque (or as the locals call it, Palenke) was the first safe haven for Africans in the Americas.

The town was founded by Benkos Biohó, an African king who escaped from captivity in Cartagena.

For over 400 years, the people of Palenke have kept their culture alive in more ways than one.

This is Mapalé, a traditional dance born from the culture brought by the enslaved Africans. This dance mimics the movements of a fish out of water, specifically the mapalé fish.

The people of Palenke tell me it represents resistance, but also freedom and a way to continue celebrating their Afro-Colombian identity.

Thank you Palenke for sharing your wonderful culture!🇨🇴🌍
