POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Pinch me is this real?

We are weeks away from moving into our HQ and new home. This has been a dream of ours for years and it’s now a reality.

I’ve never been more tired and equally full of joy.

Building from the inside out.

Can’t wait to show you around 🫶 @studio8e8 by @joannafscott

Nobody hands you a thriving agency.

Ours started in my dining room with three people and a whole lot of belief that we could build something worth being proud of.

Studio EightyEight exists because dental practice owners deserve a team who actually knows what building feels like…the investment, the risk, the reward.

We built ours. We can help you grow yours. šŸ„‚

Marketing can’t fix a story you haven’t figured out yet.

Simon Sinek put it simply: ā€œPeople don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.ā€

Before you spend another dollar on ads, answer three things.

Why did you open your practice?
Who do you most want to care for?
What do patients feel leaving your chair that they don’t feel anywhere else?

Write the answers down. Read them out loud. If they sound like every other practice in town, keep digging.

That’s your foundation. Every ad, every post, every video gets built on it.

Marketing amplifies what’s already there. Make sure there’s something worth amplifying.

Which of those three questions is hardest for you to answer? by @joannafscott

Village of Hope employs more staff than there are girls. On purpose. šŸ‡¬šŸ‡¹

This week the @freetosmilefoundation dental team provided critically needed general dentistry to young women who have been rescued from trafficking and abusive homes, along with young women living with disabilities.

@villageofhope gives them a new life, dignity and hope. Every girl receives real care. Therapy. Nutrition. Life skills and the chance to learn a talent. Even how to be a good mom, because some of these girls become pregnant as young as 11 and 12.

It’s the kind of safe place where a girl can get a little of her spark back. Smile again. Start to heal.

We had multiple mother daughter duos on this trip, and bringing Aliya made it extra special. She had the opportunity of a lifetime to step in as a dental assistant for three days. She picked it up quickly and loved it. Proud mom over here. Thank you to the dentists on the trip for inviting her in and for noticing a spark in Aliya that could lead to something @jenniferjmillerdds

Aliya also helped me set up sterilization. I loved that station. It’s tactile, and I’m a little obsessive about germs and good systems, so it was the perfect fit.

Thank you, Free to Smile, for having us and for letting our team capture the story of Village of Hope. @studio8e8 taken in Village of Hope-Guatemala by @joannafscott

Thirty years of marriage, and I’m still learning how to do this well.

Lately I’ve been running everything through one filter: am I treating my husband like my favorite person in the world?

I picked that up from Mel Robbins recently, and it’s so helpful! It’s easy to give your best energy to everyone else and hand your person what’s left. This question catches me before I do that.

A few more that have stuck:

Believe the best in each other. Neither of you is trying to SUCK.

Lower the bar when life gets heavy. Go out to dinner. Ask for help.

Fight fair. If you can’t be objective and receive feedback, go take a lap and come back to it.

Take trips with just the two of you. They put deposits back into the relationship.

Any real marriage is a ā€œboth/andā€ā€¦we will always be growing and learning.

Steal my filter this week. Ask yourself if you’re treating your person like your favorite, then come back and tell me what shifted. šŸ¤ by @joannafscott

Big things are happening. And now we’ve got the sign to prove it 🤩

Our Studio 8E8 company sign is officially on our brand new headquarters, and after years of dreaming, planning, and building toward this moment, it’s finally starting to feel real. There’s still plenty happening behind the scenes before move-in day, but seeing those letters go up is surreal.

We’re counting down the days until we get to call this place home. See you soon, HQ. taken in New Albany, Ohio by @joannafscott

Dr. Ashley Joves is one of America’s sweethearts in dentistry. And I get to call her my friend.

Ashley is a mom to three boys and owns two practices in Roseville and Folsom, California.

She was a psychology major, and you can feel it in the way she leads. She understands people. She also understands the power of investing in your brand and in who you are.

She fought beside her husband, Brian, through his oral cancer journey. She never gives up. Not on her family, not on her team, not on herself.

She’s also hilarious and will get you on the dance floor every time.

And her practices? You have to see the interior design. Seriously.

Her podcast is raw and beautiful, and you’ll get sucked in like it’s your favorite reality show.

She makes the world a better place just by showing up. 🫶

Proof that dentistry pairs pretty well with a great glass of wine šŸ„‚

Dentistry Uncorked: A Study in Taste brought together incredible wines, delicious pairings, and some of our favorite people in the dental community for a night to remember at Stories on High.

Our Founder and CEO, Joshua Scott, joined fellow registered sommelier and ā€œWinegentistā€ Katrina Sanders to guide guests through an evening of tasting, learning, laughing, and connecting.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the Ohio Dental Association for partnering with us to make this experience possible.

And a huge thank you to our sponsors TransitionOne, Huntington Bank Practice Finance, and Mango Voice for helping us bring Dentistry Uncorked to life. šŸ„‚ taken in Columbus, Ohio by @joannafscott

I’m halfway through Wintering by Katherine May, a recommendation from my friend Dr. Valerie Woo, and it found me at exactly the right time.

This fall is one of the busiest seasons of my life. We’re preparing to move our company into our new building, and there’s a lot going on all at once.

It would be easy to just keep pushing through. But this book is reminding me that winter isn’t a place, it’s a season you carry with you. Even in the busiest stretches, there’s room to slow down on the inside.

Every season has a purpose. I’m learning to sit with things, even when they’re hard, and let them teach me what they came to teach. That’s where the growth happens.

So if you’re in a full, fast season too, give yourself permission to pause. Rest isn’t falling behind. It’s part of the work.

Let’s take this one day at a time šŸ–¤ by @joannafscott

Dr. Ellen Saslaw wants her team at Riverglen to be wildly successful together. And she’s honest that it takes time to get there.

For them, that looks like rage rooms, honest conversations, and a lot of fun along the way.

She treats her team the same way she treats her family, and I love that. You can see it all over Riverglen’s social media. Go check them out.

On this episode of The Story Project, I sit down with Dr. Ellen Saslaw, owner of Riverglen Dental. What started as a conversation about trading ā€œbalanceā€ for rhythm became something much deeper.

We talk about starting over, walking into seasons you never expected, and trusting that there can still be a beautiful life on the other side.

Ellen’s story is honest, vulnerable, and one I think a lot of women will see themselves in.
