In an effort to keep spending down and buy Ontario as much as possible today I went to @top_tomato_foods . It's literally Italian veg and fruit heaven. From squash to apples to radicchio of different kinds to heirloom tomatoes and so much more.
I am pictured with some rapini, a whole lot of rapini! A bushel for $20. That's one crazy deal. The crappy Andy Boy we get from California is tiny in comparison to these big beautiful stalks.
This is a must if you want the highest level at great prices taken in Top Tomato Foods by @joannasable

The classic egg salad which I always thought was circa 1050's, isn't that necessarily. The Japanese have turned egg salad on its ears. They stuff egg salad with a jammy egg, 711's make it delicious. Go figure.
Me, I love it with a spoon of grainy mustard.

Friends are super awesome and building me a new deck. I need to keep them fuelled. Today is a lumache pasta salad with capers, cucs and onions in a tomato vinaigrette. I found leftover tomato sauce and it simply needs some extra olive oil and a good glug of red wine vinegar.

Away meant lots of fermented and cooked veg. Yes there are some good greens that were raw but as a whole I came home looking for crunch. My mom @myrasable has been making this salad with leftover steak, beans and oodles of veg. I packed mine with beans, beets, cucs, onions, tomatoes and lots of gardens corriander.

@onigiri_togoshiya is a cool old school onigiri bar on a very local neighborhood making delicious slightly warm onigiri. They have lots of flavours including my fav spicy tuna. We also had great fried chicken, crunchy cold spicy cucs, miso soup and cold tea. It was great being in a small neighborhood without tourists.
