Cooking up a storm. Let’s talk all things food.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I exhibited with Sable-Castelli Gallery for over 20 years. Jared believed in me at an early age and his support definitely helped to launch me. I recently gifted his daughter @joannasable a current digital print of the image that addresses her father. The original was created by taking a black and white self portrait standing besides a full size test print from Untitled I was thinking about you... (dear jared) taped to the studio wall. Once the black and white image was printed I then placed it into the Selectric typewriter and typed directly over myself onto the print- mimicking the typing on the actual piece. I kept the original and it is hanging in my studio bathroom - and now the digital version is hanging in Joanna’s bathroom. It feels like it has come full circle!

Last night I attended Friday night services with @randiglass134 at the oldest continuously operating synagogue in the Americas . It was a very meaningful experience, with over 100 in attendance, and like me, mostly tourists. The synagogue is Sephardic in origin. The most unique feature is the sand floor. There is also a Jewish museum attached to the synagogue. #shabbatshalom #whereeveryougotheresalwayssomeonejewish

What a DREAM night for our 1950’s themed dinner party @joannasable
We mixed classic retro comfort food with a modern, gourmet twist! From those beautifully piped deviled eggs (which disappeared fast!) to the perfect glazed ham served with a savory pineapple chutney, and creamy scalloped potatoes that were pure nostalgia.
But the real star? @rudy_bortolamiol amazing, multi-layered Jell-O inspired dessert served in champagne flutes! It was the cherry on top of an evening filled with the best company, great food, and non-stop laughter.

From Macarons to Jelly! ✨🇫🇷
This summer, @rudy_bortolamiol took an amazing macaron workshop at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, and it’s got him buzzing with French inspiration! Now, he’s translating that technique into a totally different classic—a sophisticated take on a 1950s-inspired dessert.
Introducing his Prosecco Jelly & Berry Dessert🍾🍓🫐
The glass layers include sparkling Prosecco Jelly with fresh Blueberries, sweet macerated Strawberries, and rich Raspberry Purée.
It will be topped with a cloud of Whipped Cream, delicately infused with cracked black pepper for a surprising, aromatic, and absolutely addictive finish! 🤯
Every step, from the precise layering to the peppery cream, is a nod to the skills he brought back from Paris.

Saturday Night’s Stunning Creation!
I am still dreaming about this incredible Almond Flour Cake that the one and only @joannasable baked for us on Saturday night! Seriously, look at this masterpiece.
This isn’t just any cake; it’s a moist almond flour base with a hidden layer of crunchy walnut streusel inside. The topping? Oh, the topping is perfection: tender, poached apples simmered in a mixture of brown sugar and butter with a pinch of salt, all before being placed right on top. The final touch was a drizzle of warm syrup right before serving—you can see it soaking into that beautiful crust!
It was the perfect warm, cozy, and comforting dessert. Thank you, Joanna, for an amazing treat!

Garlic haul magic
Big thank you to @joannasable for bringing me these beautiful garlic bulbs from @thamesrivermelons . There’s nothing like farm-fresh garlic — the aroma is stronger, the flavor more complex, and it elevates even the simplest dish.

Why this garlic is so special:
• Grown locally with care
• Packed with natural antioxidants & immune-boosting benefits
• Richer, sweeter, and more fragrant than store-bought garlic

What I can’t wait to make:
• A slow-roasted garlic confit for bread & pasta
• Classic aglio e olio (you can never go wrong)
• Garlic mashed potatoes with extra depth
• A rustic garlic soup for cozy nights
• Or just rubbed on warm bruschetta with olive oil

This basket is pure kitchen inspiration.

This morning we started off at one of Paris’ most iconic food spots: Le Marché des Enfants Rouges. Open since 1628, it’s the oldest covered market in the city—tucked away in the Marais at 39 Rue de Bretagne. The name means ‘Market of the Red Children,’ a nod to the orphans once cared for nearby, dressed in red uniforms. History meets flavor here: stalls overflowing with colors, smells, and tastes from all over the world. The perfect start to the day in Paris!
