Tonight I have things to show you! It’s @aquariumgallery Open Studios, gallery is showing the magnificent work of Christian Dinh. If you’re lucky you’ll catch me here while I’m marbling so you can watch the magic! Clothes and paper are on sale! I will can create a simple beautiful lantern from any paper you like on the spot tonight! I use marble paper in crafts or book making, collage or as it is, each tells its own unique story. Hi, I’m Shivers, Aquarium Gallery member since 2024, first started as a resident artist turned into studio member. I like to play dress up, paint, sculpt, video, mixed media and installation.

Halloween always the best. Here’s an install at our Haunted House Aquarium fundraiser. I was Pond Scum, made a peppers ghost and a grown folks shed adorned with swamp staples including the rougarou.

I have solo shows. Here I’m in front of the piece Dark Waters, marbled fabric gloves with velvet black sparkles.

I do paint and sew garments

I pond scum

I marble on paper and fabric.

“You have the best birthday parties” - Blair as she lounges in the pool eating bbq shrimp. It is true I do show up to host and party, what can I say, I live to carve watermelon mermaids and float.

My studio be messy. Marbling takes up some space, at least the way I do it. So I get my own room , too big for one but not big enough for two. Give a fish a big tank and it’ll grow bigger. by @joanshivers

Remembering my Nan who was the top costume maker at the Liberty Shop from the 1960-70s , creating costumes for kings and queens throughout those years for a bunch of Krewes. I have fabric from the outfits she’s made for each year along with the sequins and trims and ribbons, labeled with her beautiful handwritten tags for each year. I do plan on incorporating those in my upcoming works. by @joanshivers
