As always it’s been so intense getting to the finish line but with the new addition of the fashion publications shop @graduatefashionfoundation I hope some of the amazing magazines make it to second issues and beyond. There is a gap in the market for sociopolitical voices of Zen z.

We drove to the middle of nowhere…………….and it was worth it !

Easter road trip 🚘 with Liza @virtualshoemuseum ❤️ to see art heroine Niki De Saint Phalle @niki_charitable_art_foundation who spent over 20 years and her own money dedicated to building the dream that is the Tarot Garden in Tuscany.

Her series of ‘Nana’s’ challenge the archetypal female figure representing the liberation and power of women as joyful, positive, and confident. ✨

👏👏 Pope Leo XIV message of peace, hope, and “unarmed” love.🕊️ a nice time to be in Rome !

Last week I was invited to @ljmu Liverpool to deliver a practice talk and experimental workshop for @weare_mafashion @wearefashion_lsad

I realised it was nearly 20 years since I had exhibited at the first ever Design Show Liverpool with @design_nationuk in 2008 the city’s year as the European Capital of Culture.

Big thank you to Dr @leanne_tonkin and @kayla_owenstudio for the invitation, fun day and access to the Jon Savage archives and special collections. Featuring the first ever cut and paste ID mags and early fashion pieces by Westwood and McLaren. @thewestwoodarchives

I particularly enjoyed visiting the on campus @liverpoolmetropolitancathedral and ‘Flee & Survive’ Refugee Action women’s art project lead by @fbebbington on Hope Street. Great to catch the @liverpoolbiennial on now ! @_nathan_coley_

Crushed Stilettos 👠 landing at @mac_birmingham!

Part of @craftspace_ Made in the Middle touring exhibition.

On display Feb 14th - Apr 12th 2026. Celebrate with us 🎉 on Feb 13th at Midlands Art Centre - open to everyone!

‘Pressure' showcases handcrafted, hydraulically crushed stiletto heels, reflecting my grandmother's extreme menopause symptoms while working in footwear. A tribute to her strength and craft.

The second episode of the Social Lives of Shoes by the Footwear Research Network is now live! Many thanks to the incredible artist Jo Cope @jocope_studio for her profound insights

In this episode, we explore the power of shoes as vessels for storytelling and social change. From Jo’s collaborative project with @sheltercharity addressing homelessness to her evocative, twisted stilettos that embody feminist struggles, she reveals how craft and performance art can generate empathy and drive meaningful dialogue.

”I suppose it’s always about, you know, wouldn’t we love to change the world, through the power of shoes?”

We discuss her therapeutic making process, the political power of red shoes, and how footwear can connect communities through shared experience. Jo also shares insights from teaching ethical social practice at @dmuleicester and her current reflections on using art to navigate our challenging political climate - all through the humble yet profound medium of shoes.
