There’s a version of your life you’ve thought about.

Maybe you still do…
when things finally get quiet.

Where your work feels aligned.
Where your relationships feel real.
Where what you’re doing actually means something.

Most people don’t lose that version.

They just drift away from it.

Not all at once.
Not dramatically.

Just slowly…
through busy days, constant noise, and small moments no one notices.

You’re not failing.

You’re drifting.

And the cost shows up everywhere—
your time, your energy, your decisions, your relationships, your future.

Here’s the shift:

You don’t eliminate drift.

You learn to catch it sooner…
and come back faster.

That’s a skill.

And it can be trained.

👉 If this hits, start here. link 🔗 in bio

Catch it. Come back faster.

You know what your golfer can do. The hardest part is watching them struggle—and not knowing how to help.

“My swing’s broken.”
“I’m not good enough.”

A difficult round can become a much bigger story about who they are.

Swing development matters. So does learning to handle pressure, disappointment, and expectations.

Can they be nervous AND committed?
Frustrated AND disciplined?
Learn from a difficult round without letting it define them?

At Real Performance Institute, we help golfers and their families recognize what’s happening, learn from it, and practice better responses over time.

That’s building a deeper bench.

If this feels familiar, message me “BENCH.” Tell me what you’re seeing, and let’s start a conversation.

Save this for the next difficult round—or share it with a golf parent.

Different players. Different stages. Different pressures.

This week, athletes I work with are preparing for Korn Ferry Tour Q-School, competing in NCAA Division I golf, and learning what performance under pressure actually asks of them.

The clubs can be ready. The game can be ready.

But is the player ready?

One of the most meaningful things I heard after 36 holes yesterday wasn’t about a score:

“I’m so proud of how present I was.”

Pressure didn’t disappear.

Capacity expanded.

Prepare the game.
Prepare the player.
Trust the work.

Honor the rep.
Play what’s here now.

A new week.
New courses. New conditions. New opportunities.

High school golf. College golf. Professional golf.

Different stages. Same challenge:
be where your feet are and compete with what’s here.

Watching. Coaching. Praying. 🙏

Honor the rep.
Play what’s here.

Another week. Another round. Another opportunity.

For many of the players I’m fortunate to work with, this week actually began days ago.

Travel. Practice rounds. Preparation. Schoolwork. Recovery. Managing energy. Learning the golf course. Preparing the mind for whatever might show up.

Some are coming off competition and victories this weekend. Others are beginning college tournaments today. Some are preparing for 36-hole days — a competitive marathon that asks you to sustain your attention, energy and emotional discipline for hours upon hours.

Others are preparing for Q-School, upcoming college events and state championships.

Different players. Different places. Different stages of the journey.

But the game keeps asking remarkably similar questions:

Can you prepare with intention — and then let yourself play?

Can you remain present when conditions change?

Can you accept what you cannot control without surrendering what you can?

Can you respond to a mistake without allowing it to become a story?

And can you remember that yesterday’s result — good or bad — doesn’t get to hit today’s shot?

Golf offers no controlled environment. The wind changes. Temperatures change. Lies change. Your body changes. Your emotions change. Momentum changes.

And then there you are.

One ball. One situation. One opportunity in front of you.

That’s why we practice more than golf swings at RPI.

We practice how to notice.
How to reset.
How to trust.
How to respond.
How to begin again.

To all the players competing, traveling and preparing this week:

Honor the work you’ve done.

Honor the rep.

Play what’s here.

And enjoy the opportunity. 🇺🇸⛳️🙏 by @joeboscocoach

Want to lower your scores? Start closer to the hole.

Here’s a simple 5–10 minute putting scrimmage you can use today:

9 putts. 9 holes. 1 ball. Count every stroke.

Different distances. Different breaks. Full competitive routine. Treat every putt as if it matters—because that’s how you prepare your putting for performance under pressure.

This is not mindless repetition. It’s a short scoring scrimmage.

Try RPI Scoring Skills Play 01 — Close the Deal and send me your score and one thing you noticed.

DM “CLOSE” + your score and I’ll send you the next Scoring Skills Play when it’s ready.

Save it. Try it. Share it with a player who could use it.

This isn’t mindless repetition. It’s performance putting practice: read it, commit, execute, finish the hole and keep score.

It also makes an excellent pre-round warm-up when time is short.

Try RPI Scoring Skills Play 01 — Close the Deal today.

Send me your score and one thing you noticed.
DM CLOSE and I’ll make sure you see the next Scoring Skills Play.

Save it. Try it. Share it with a player who wants to score better.

A 45-second RPI Performance Play.

If you’re carrying something you don’t need to carry into the next moment, run this once.

If it helps, save it — or send it to someone who may need it today.

🥳 World Gratitude Day has actually been recognized on September 21 since the 1960s.

It began with a simple idea: set aside a day to intentionally recognize the value of gratitude — not just personally, but in the way we relate to other people and the world around us.

When I saw this posted today, my first thought was simple:

This should be every day.

Not because every day is easy.
Not because everything goes the way we want.
Not because we ignore disappointment, frustration, loss, or challenge.

But because there is almost always something worth noticing.

Someone who cares.
Something we’ve learned.
An opportunity we still have.
A memory that makes us smile.
A small thing we normally move past too quickly.

Gratitude, to me, is really about attention.

What are we choosing to notice?

So yes, today may officially be World Gratitude Day.

But maybe the better reminder is this:

Don’t wait for a special day to notice what’s already worth being thankful for.

WHAT ARE YOU GRATEFUL FOR, NOW?
name it, in comments if you like 👇🏽 😊
